I don't get it! I spend one day using the tractor, and it's dirty

Got about 30 last fall,.177 and a scope. And a flashlight. Had a fat fox in the back 40 last fall. I wash my tractor a couple times a year. Only if it needs it. I would leave it out in the rain, but im funny that way. I left it out 1 night since i bought it. It was at my buddy's place. He left...

Choke on shutting down gas engine?

Friend had a green and yellow 755 compact tractor. Yard maintenance guy, also a small engine repairman (self-proclaimed) used to come up to the shop, tractor wide open and flip off the key. Horrible sounds. Made a mess of that machine in one summer. Wide open for mowing, not pto speed. Mower was...

Choke on shutting down gas engine?

Nope. Its just dumb. Some engines-kawasaki for one had plastic timing gears and if not idled for a minute before shutdown could backfifire And shear off the teeth on the cam gear, flooding to shut down will cool plug and prevent the backfire. Maybe. Done frequently will dilute the oil.

This normal for a fuel filter?

Yup, check your fuel container. Close it when not pouring fuel in or out. Like the caterpiller fuel cap used to say "use clean fuel, keep it clean"

    Spoiled??

My old cockshuut has power steering or power assist. Used it a couple winters to plow snow. It was cold. My truck now has a plow. The kubota is a godsend with the mower and three point hitch. The forks were the greatest thing i ever built. Having a good tractor that starts and does what one...

    Interesting dismount

Shifter grabbed my carharts once. Not a fun trip off tractor. I swing my right leg over steering wheel,no more trying to back off tractor. Need to make footboards bigger so my size 10s wil fit more than just one way. That and raising seat.

    Re-decking a trailer

Was going to mention diesel and used oil but i youn know the enviromentalists are everywhere. Cant put used oil on a road, but new motor oil is ok. So new motor oil and diesel is what i will suggest.

    Tool You Made

A/c clutch in my chevy was malfunctioning.threw a 3/4 bolt in lathe and drilled and tapped for 3/8" fine. Threw a nut on it and threaded on a/c compressor. Couple cranks on big nut and pulled up clutch til i had .020 and now it engages flawlessly. One of many home built hokey tools.

Many times we make judgement without

Over the last 10 days our dog started behaving oddly, mrs figured she was mad at us for banishing her from the bedroom (likes to sleep on the bed, sheds a lot, i had enough) but i started testing her. She's deaf. Went to vet, ears have some sort of infection. May or may not regain hearing. I feel...

Many times we make judgement without

A friend of mine has a very old arabian. Looks thin. He eats well. This i know for sure. People come by and mention the horse to others. He doesent like to be in a pen, so hes permitted to wander the farm freely. So many times i have heard about a do-gooder trying to catch the old arabian and...
