Hi, I just bought my first Kubota (used 2007 GR2100) seemingly in mint condition...here is my first problem (day 1)...

First of all, the 4 fuses (including slow blow) are not blown. Here is the order of events that have led to having no electric:

1) engine would not shut off (manually killed it)
2) starter won't crank...just makes a clank sound
3) then all of a sudden the engine starts right up
4) then back to the starter just making a clank sound
4b) buzzer starts buzzing for first time when ignition off, slowly fizzles out
5) now I have no power to anything whatsoever. Not even a hint. No dash lights, no sound anywhere, absolutely no power.

Does anyone have the answer to this?

The only thing I have noticed is this mystery wire just hanging out...see attached.

Thanks so much to anyone that has a clue!!!

Have to agree with Ken. Better look again, many find a crimped on eye under a bolt?

Or just get a schematic of your machine and trace it out.

Definitely a ground wire. I forget where it goes, but it's a ground wire for sure. Wish I had one around to go look at; but for once, no GR2100's to do transmission work on....at least for now.

Grab a clamp and clamp it down to the engine or frame, and see if it will start/run.

Ok, I found where the ground wire broke off and fixed it. Also checked battery and cleaned contacts. Now it starts every time, but does not shut off via ignition. Also, when I turn on the lights it instantly blows a fuse. Other than that, everything is good now.

The solenoid also works on a fuse and will start but not shut off if that fuse is blown but I'm not sure if it's the same fuse as the lights.

Replace the fuse and tested out just don't use the lights then if that solve's the start and stop issue them find out where the short is in the light's and you should be good.

Check to make sure the wires to your headlamps have not been pinched by the hood hinge. That blows a 10 Amp (if I remember correctly) fuse when you power up the headlamps. That circuit also powers the shut off solenoid.
