    Udt vs super udt

Yes, been a dealer for 25+ years and like you really got started just for my own needs. I tried to sell some when I first started but most people are so close minded about synthetics it's all but pointless to try and sell to them. Funny how things have changed in recent years. Seems like since...

    New tractor orientation

My old boss used to say the worst thing to do is put a newby with the most experienced hand for training. Reason being is the experienced man already knows all the short cuts and while being more efficient in most cases but also knows all the ways around the safety stuff. Experience is the...

    Udt vs super udt

Good chance your 96 had SUDT fluid in it instead of UDT. My 00 had this in it from the factory. Don't even think it's around any more and has been long since been replaced by the more advanced SUDT2. Your dealer is right in the fact that UDT will work in your climate and SUDT2 in better suited...

I wonder about new Kubota tractors...

That's the honest truth. Anybody that believes more emissions equals reliability has either been under a rock or has been starting their car in the garage with the door down to often.

    Safety shields

I know they can be a PIA and for most when the safety shield on pto shafts get damaged or wear out they are removed and thrown away. I have a couple with either bad or missing covers myself. Even though it does cost to replace them it's probably the best thing we could do to protect ourselves...

    Kubota M9540 front hub

I'm kind of up in the air about Kubota hay tools myself. The balers have some interesting features but being the new kids on the block it's hard to trust them. It's difficult to break into a established market when the other guys are and have been doing it right for years. My closest dealer is...

    M8950DT Hydraulic Issues

That's the line. The ones I've worked on will have a rubber section where the 2 steel lines join. Most of the time it's right under your right foot. Check that close. I've seen them have a crack and not leak.

    M8950DT Hydraulic Issues

I'd look close at the suction line on the right side under the floor. Could have been mashed or cracked the rubber part which would let it suck air.

Re: I wonder about new Kubota tractors... Sometimes "know better" gets overpowered by should have known better.

Hydraulic Oil vs Transmission Fluid MX5800

It is a common reservoir, same fluid for both systems. The newer books say to only change filters but I'm a firm believer in doing a full service. Bottom line it's your tractor so you get to decide if you want to chance it. Personally after 3 new tractors I'll do the full service if nothing else...

Why does one side light up solid when turn signal is on?

Not all tractors have tail lights. Nor do all cab tractors have front markers. I always figured it was to show that both lights worked so a oncoming car wouldn't just assume it was out or just making a turn. Could relate back to old iron that only had one flasher period. What would these...

    Kerosene opps....

Could be a former Kerosene pump. Store up the road from me switched their's because hardly anybody bought kerosene and everyone wanted diesel. I would call the store and ask about it.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Was feeding cows and found a dead calf. Had to unload trackhoe and walk for seemed like a hour to bury it. Figured while I was there I would dig a blockage out of my creek. Ended up spending the rest of the day digging and tearing up trees and brush.

    Front tires

Only 2 piece wheels I have messed with have tubes. After paying for my education at the tire store I should have just fixed them myself at home. I will from now on. You don't have to have a tool for valve stems but it's easier if you do. TSC has a pretty good one for cheap. I have used mine...

    10 hr. Service for L3901

It shows some grease stays where it's put and most others don't. I guess I can see the importance of that after seeing rocks get dropped into haul trucks hard enough that the windshield was knocked out. Shock loads and pound out is real problem in certain applications.

I wonder about new Kubota tractors...

I just want one of those things like the Jetsons had where you could push a button and it would spit out a cooked meal. I push my wife's buttons all the time but I think hers are set on fight instead of cook.

    L3901 HST 4WD making a rattling/roaring noise

Before you get to worried look it over for something loose. For example my L3000 about drove me crazy with a rattle that sounded just like it was in the clutch area. Worked perfect and the dealer said to keep working it and they would come get it when they got a open spot in the shop. This...

    10 hr. Service for L3901

That's the same moly grease I use. Very good, honestly the best I've ever used. If you want or need something for wheel bearings get the GLCCR which is the multi purpose grease.

    10 hr. Service for L3901

The quarry I worked at bought clay base grease once because it was about $100 a drum cheaper. I greased my loader every day rain or shine without exception. Even then it was not uncommon to have grease veins get stopped up once a week. This happened nearly every time on the bucket pins...

    10 hr. Service for L3901

NLGI#1 is thinner and more for extreme cold climates or in autolube systems. NLGI#2 is probably the most commonly used and is great for nearly all applications for the average user. To get the preferred prices you either have to become a preferred customer or a dealer. Same pricing for both...
