Well I dug this up to let you know the latest. After thinking repeatedly that it was fuel and getting nowhere, I pulled apart, cleaned & lubed all the electrical connections on the safety switches and every bayonet connection I could find. Good news is it's running normal again, no stutter...

I was suspicious of the fuel but the station I get mine from sells a lot and I've never had a problem in 5 years.. I gave it a heavy dose of seafoam this morning and used it a little without the miss........cross my fingers..... next time I'll get #1

Sounds like you've got the old style seat. I had the same problem w/my BX2230. I ended up getting the new style seat from Messics and solved that problem.

As far as it running hot, mine is just the opposite, runs cold. I checked it w/infrared and it was 180 or better depending where I checked. So I changed the thermostat when I changed coolant. Same thing, showing still running cold.....rats! Maybe the sensor? I'll mess with it another day. See...

Can you tell me what the difference is between #1 and #2 low sulfur fuel off road or otherwise? Would it be compared to premium and regular in gasoline? The reason I ask is the #1 is considerably more expensive.
