    I'd guess air in the system, most likely in the fuel system, make sure you turned the fuel back on fully after changing the filter, recheck the fuel filter to ensure it is fitted and seated correctly, oring in correct place, and easy to do up and fitting square. Bleed the fuel at the air vent...

    There are some differences in the MX5000 line up, some serial number changes, I recall some electrical differences picked up by another MX5000 owner on this forum, I think it was in relation to OPC, there may be others.

    Specific tests would be listed by manufacturer, would need a test bench/torque wrench etc. Is it currently slipping in normal use? Is it getting very hot? If it gets hot it's slipping.

    That style is most likely non adjustable, replacing internal springs and discs may be your only option, if parts are available, but don't take my word for it.

    How many wires in the plug on the back of the alternator? Can you check colors and meter them (check for continuity) to the regulator? Do you have a manual with wiring diagram for this tractor? So the regulator fuse and charge lamp are good? The new regulator (if it is the correct one) is not...

    Yes, still turn over, including pistons, stuck rings means stuck/siezed in the ring groove which stops them from expanding and making proper contact with the cylinder walls to create compression.
