I'm thinking about a backhoe for my B2320. Rather than invest in a frame mounted type I have looked at the 3 pt attachment. (Also looking at those towable units as well). I am wondering if the 3 pt on my tractor is suitable to handle the backhoe as well as it does other 3 pt equipment. Admittedly my usage will be mostly home owner based for projects around my property.
Anyone have experience with these, recommendations or advice?
I certainly do not want to damage the tractor or the 3 pt. But if the machine is capable of handling this then I will consider it further. My tractor is relatively new, less than a year and is this attachment something that would affect the warranty? This is my first realtractor and I want to be careful about implement purchases.

Thanks for any advice.

Your owners manual specifys load capacity of your 3 point. If you are within your load rating you should be fine.

That being said, i recall a thread about dealer supplying a mower that was heavier than 3 point capacity. Dont know the end result, but i believe owner is running it as supplied.

While you probably don't want to spend the money, if you intend on keeping the machine for many years, consider an OEM BH65. Price it out over 20 years to help justify it!

I wouldn't give $.02 for a 3 point mounted backhoe. They are a pain in the backside ESPECIALLY on a B2320/2620. Frame mounted is the only way to go. Remember-the B series doesn't have a "real frame" and it shows in the lift capacity of the 3 point hitch, and thus it doesn't take much to overload the little tractor. That's why the BH65 comes with subframes. The subframes distribute the load across the whole tractor as opposed to just the ALUMINUM HST and rear axle housings.
