I just purchased a 2005 L4400 HST, changed the hydraulic oil and filters, engine oil and filter, fuel filter and air filters. Since then it is robbed of power going up the slightest hill to the point where if I stay on the throttle, it will stall. Anyone run into similar issues or have any suggestions?

I'd guess air in the system, most likely in the fuel system, make sure you turned the fuel back on fully after changing the filter, recheck the fuel filter to ensure it is fitted and seated correctly, oring in correct place, and easy to do up and fitting square. Bleed the fuel at the air vent cock on the pump and also at the injectors.

Ensure your old hydraulic filters have the rubber seals still on them (so you don't have a filter in place with a double seal), try nipping the filters up a smidgen to ensure they are sealing correctly.

Ensure oil levels are correct.
Recheck air filter for correct fitment, and to ensure you didn't leave a cleaning rag in there.
Make sure you haven't selected high gear for going up hills.

Just curious what the outcome was. We replaced a motor in an L4400HST and the tractor has never had the power that it used to have.

We replaced it with a kubota motor and everything, but its just not been the same. Recently I replaced all the hydraulic filters thinking that could be the cause. New filters and it still has low power.

Thanks

very rare to have hst problems it's almost always fuel and/or engine related and if it's engine related there is normally other complaints that go along with it (noise, smoke, etc)

Was the engine you installed spec'd for an L4400HST or just one of the same family?
