    Bx23s mowing over septic

It's not so much the tank you have to worry about as the drain field. Stay off of it if the ground is soft.

    Brief Starting Stopping

Starting the tractor in cold weather to be able to use the FEL to lift the front end and then shutting it off after you lifted it is not going to break your tractor. I'm assuming you only do this occasionally. If I have to do something like this I let the engine run for a minute or so before...

2014 L4060 Will not start. Cranks won't fire

Manually and visually check all the connections to sensors. Look for corrosion, loose connections, damaged pins, etc

    Underloading of L-210 engine

Thanks for the info Wolfman. I can't believe any post WWII designed engine wouldn't have a water pump based cooling system. I can see using this type of engine cooling for a stationary, fixed load engine (irrigation pump, generator, etc). Just surprised that any "modern" engine on a tractor...

    Underloading of L-210 engine

Diesel slobbers is a problem caused by short usage periods that don't allow the engine to come to operating temperature as well as long periods of idling. Are you sure this engine does not have a thermostat because it should have one to allow the engine to come to operating temperature. Did the...

    Kubota 3901cranks but wont start

I agree. If the rail is being pressurized and adequate fuel is available at the high pressure pump, the problem is in the electronic components. Check all the connectors for clean contacts and good connections. These are the weak points in EEC systems. I don't know how timing is sensed but if...

    Kubota 3901cranks but wont start

So it's not a hydromechanical injection pump system? It's an EEC system?

    Kubota 3901cranks but wont start

Specifically, what did you check and what did you find? Did you have fuel coming out of the tank to the filter, out of the filter to the lift pump, out of the lift pump to the injector pump....

    idle adjustment

Make sure you have adequate delivery of fuel to the injector pump. Your problem could be fuel related. Most of the hydro mechanical injector pumps(IP) have an adjustment screw to set the low idle speed and the high idle speed. Does your tractor have a tachometer that works? if so start the...

    Toplink threads?

I think they are an acme thread and I suppose someone makes acme taps but I have never seen one. If you find them, they are likely expensive. It might be better to find a machine shop that can help you or just spring for simple replacement from TSC, Cenex, etc. Look around on the web and you can...

    Sputtering 2501

Power loss is usually indicative of reduced fuel delivery. Clogged tank strainer, ice or wax (so called "jelled fuel")accreting on the filter, obstructed fuel lines, weak or non-functioning lift pump, clogged fuel filter head, missing or extra o-ring on filter, restricted return to tank line...

    Kubota 3901cranks but wont start

if you're getting fuel during starting, there should be some white-ish smoke coming from the exhaust pipe. You say the temperatures in the 60's so we can rule out waxing or ice. Since you say you don't see any, make sure you have adequate fuel delivery. Start at the tank outlet. there's a...

    Grand L 6060 block heater

Based on my experience the block eater that installs in the engine water jacket is the best type. It's relatively easy to install and puts the heat where you need it which is in the water jacket. Rad hose heaters are useful if there are no core plugs in the block but some of their heat ends up...

    Throttle control, engine RPM.

If you want long life out of an engine, an SI engine or a CI engine, you don't take it to max rpm until it reaches operating temperature. Piston engines need to be run regularly and brought to operating temperature and kept there to "boil off" water condensation and other volatiles in the lube...

    newly purchased L285 won't start

Since you cleaned the tank outlet, what did you find? Did you change out the fuel filter? I doubt compression is your problem since you get it to start after putting fuel in the cylinders manually. Your observation that you have low flow at the lift pump discharge is indicative of an up stream...

    newly purchased L285 won't start

Before you start taking things apart, there are a few simple things you can do when you have a no start situation. First I assume that the engine is in reasonable mechanical condition, i.e. good compression. Make sure that you have adequate fuel flow to the injectors. Start at the tank and make...

    2016 MX5200 Dual Fuel Filters?

I don't know about you but I don't want to fool around with a waxed filter! Preventing waxing and fuel icing is a better deal! The best thing to avoid cold weather fuel problems is to keep your tank as full as possible to reduce condensation, drain your water separator on a regular basis to...

    Air Bubbles in Hydraulics

That's a possibility. Does that fluid meet Kubota specs?

    Air Bubbles in Hydraulics

It maybe that you pump suction tube/line is leaking air and aerating the fluid. The hydraulic reservoir should be vented so the seals on the cap are to prevent dirt entering the system and not prevent air entry. Is the fluid level correct? Are you using the correct hydraulic fluid?
