    instrument panel/ fuel/temp gauge

Most automotive type analog instruments operate at 5 V and have some sort of voltage regulator that limits the voltage to this level.

    Engine Shut Down

" I went to restart-just kept turning over. Waited few min, then it started and shut down again few min later." That tells me it's not a safety interlock because the engine turned over. I'd suspect it a fuel delivery issue. Start at the fuel tank and make sure you have good fuel flow out of the...

    K 2620 Fuel Filter Leak

Make sure that you don't have an old o-ring stuck in the filter head. If you put the new o-ring I and the old one is still there. It will leak.

    Cold running L2501

Unlike a spark ignition engine, a diesel won't warm up very quickly at idle. A gas engine has relatively constant peak gas temperatures so it will warm up at idle. With a diesel You have to put load on it to increase the peak gas temperature in the cylinders. Once you get it started, let the...

    l3240hst cab heater blowing cold

Some tractors have a "summer shut off valve" on the supply line to the heater core. If you have one it maybe in the shut off position so no hot coolant is getting to the heater core. Check the hoses with an infra red thermometer starting at top of the radiator( hottest point) and then to the...

L45 Smoke and sputter on cold start.

You didn't mention what the ambient temperature was when you attempted to start your tractor. My experience has been in temperatures < ~40°F, there is some clatter and rattle from the cold combustion process from a cold soaked diesel. This is normal for compression ignition engines. As...

    M5640SU Block Heater Location?

I went through this on our M4500.I researched part numbers on the web etc but I could find any installation instructions. I asked for advice on this forum and after looking at the engine and finding core plugs, I talked to the parts manager at our local dealership. Kubota offers a kit for the...

    Location of M4500 Block Heater

Actually the instructions recommend Loctite but not which color. Normally the core plugs can be turned at a right angle to the centerline of the hole with just a hit on the edge from a punch and then removed with a pair of pliers. Maybe Kubota uses red Loctite on them!

    Location of M4500 Block Heater

Yeah the instructions recommend Loctite sealer. The parts guy at the dealer said to put the element in the bushing finger tight and use the socket and extension to drive it into place. He said it's a taper fit and would not go in all the way to the boss. the use Teflon tape on the element and...

    Location of M4500 Block Heater

I got back from the Kubota dealer with a part number 70000-00297 block heater kit. The instructions say it goes on the left side of the engine in the core plug. It contains a taper fit bushing with a female thread on one end (part number 70090-33386) that is driven into the core plug hole. The...

    Location of M4500 Block Heater

I don't have the hose. I have a petcock. as shown. Look at the core plugs in the other photo. I wonder if a block heater can go in there?

    Location of M4500 Block Heater

I was looking at the M4500 WSM today and it appears to me that there are some core plugs aft of the IP on the right side of the block They are kind of high up on the block so I'll have to remove the side shield to see. I really don't see anything in these pictures below the IP. I'll go out and...

    Lower Radiator Hose Heater

At the risk of starting an argument, I would only use a rad hose heater if there was no way to install a block heater. The block heater will warm the coolant in the block's water jacket and they are just more effective at warming the coolant than a heater in the lower radiator hose. Just look at...

    Location of M4500 Block Heater

Kubota offers one for the M4500 that goes into a 3/4" NPT hole (PN 70000-17550)not a core plug hole. But I don't know where that *$#&% hole is located. The poster below says there is one on the right hand side below the IP so I'll look.

    Location of M4500 Block Heater

Messick's lists one, PN 70000-17550 and it's a 3/4" NPT unit that threads into somewhere. There is no hose for it. It's just a 400 W resistance heater similar to what a core plug installation unit uses. I think your description of the location maybe where it installs so thanks for the info. It...

    Location of M4500 Block Heater

Our M4500 has a rad hose heater on it and it's shot. I prefer a block heater to hose heaters but at first glance I don't see where it is to be installed. I have installed them in other tractors but I don't see a location for the S2600-A engine. However Kubota offers them for this model. They are...

Hard facing rod on mower blades

I believe those blades are forged and then sharpened. Remember this is a piece of rotating machinery and heating the forging by welding on it will change the metallurgy. The mower housing will not contain a chunk of blade that comes off and that can present a dangerous, even fatal, situation...
