    12V connector in B2650 cab

I apologize for the fuzzy focus, tough spot to get a picture.

    12V connector in B2650 cab

There is a 12V accessory connector behind the seat on the left side (as viewed sitting in the seat) of my B2650. It has two female spade connectors at right angles to each other in a plastic housing with a locking tab. At the moment, I'm using it by inserting two male spade connectors...

    Toolmania?

That's actually not a bad way to pick up some decent tools. I've glommed onto some pretty decent stuff, including Snap On, that way. My collection is what you might call "eclectic". Grab any two tools at random and the chances of them being the same brand varies from slim to none...

    Toolmania?

Oh, you poor innocent thing. You have NO idea... The pictures are my "big shop". Then there's my woodworking shop next to it. And my modeling space in the basement. And the "new" shed. I'm tired of walking all the way back up to the big shop when I need a tool down at the barn, so I'm...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

I live on the coast of Maine. I'm here to tell ya, they don't call it the "Rockbound Coast of Maine" for nothing! I used to mow a lot of fields around here, but as my equipment (and bod...) aged I gave them up one by one. I mowed with a John Deere 750 compact and a 5' Woods rotary mower. No...

Built a Tipping trailer for the B7200D

Ah. With that sort of arrangement for the hitch (versus a drawbar-and-pin) I can see where tongue weight would be important. Thanks for the explanation!

Built a Tipping trailer for the B7200D

I wondered about the tongue weight too. On another forum, I get to see a lot of European equipment and casual observation indicates that most of their trailed equipment has the wheels set much further back than what I'm used to seeing. I assume there's a reason for that, wonder what it is?

    Work Shop Manuals (WSM)

I am a firm believer in WSM's, or as I call them, Shop Manuals. I used to buy them for my trucks back when a guy with a toolbox could work on them, and I bought one for my John Deere 750. Pricey, but worth every dime when you need it. In keeping with that approach, I ponied up the $100+ for...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Mowed around the outbuildings and finally got on that wet section of the South pasture. I mow with an ancient Duetz 6' finish mower on the three point, still does a good job. Sure am lovin' my air-conditioned mower! :p

first real work day with the new to me L185

Nice! Amazing how much work those little buggers will do if you go about it right, isn't it?

    A darwin award goes to...

Just down the road a ways from me. Stupid, multiplied by alcohol. Call me an old fuddy-duddy, but I think re-legalizing fireworks was a BAD idea. Ladyfingers, yes. Mortar-launched explosives? Not so much. Not to mention the noise pollution and the fire danger. I've been putting up with...

    Steel SYSTER Scarborough Me.

Re: Steel SHYSTER Scarborough Me. I deal with Lane Conveyor and Drive in Brewer, ME. I first dealt with them when I was the Assistant Maintenance Manager at Bumblebee's (used to be Stinsons) cannery here in town. Got to to know the guys in steel sales pretty well. After I left Bumblebee, I...

    Black Button on B2650

The button just selects which function the tach is monitoring: Engine RPM, Mid-PTO RPM or Rear PTO RPM. You need to adjust the hand throttle to get the selected PTO to run at rated RPM. I really like this function as I can adjust the throttle for changing loads and be sure the implement is...

Do you have a 30 year old that can work?

Well, my JD750 was 27 when I sold it this Spring, and AFAIK, it's still earning it's living with the new owner. My 1938 Farmall still does what it's made for, but with no hydraulics and no 3PH, it doesn't get used much.

Simple, cheap and handy Pull Pin Solution

Fortunately, I was born an a$$h@l# so my retirement (so far...) has been pretty satisfying. My scheduling problems are self-inflicted: I can't seem to pass up an opportunity to make a few bucks on the side. Good news is, wifey understands and agrees that we live on our retirement and SS...

    Charming...

Cutler is still active. MUCH reduced and mostly automated, but still there. I retired from the Navy after my last tour at Winter Harbor (NSGA) in 1990. I worked briefly at NAVSATCOM DET Alpha here in Prospect Harbor and we used the range at Cutler for our quarterly firearms qualification...

    Charming...

I should probably shut up before I jinx myself, but we've been REAL lucky with the black flies and the skeeters this year. Chilly nights (still in the low 40's and occasionally dips into the 30's) seem to be keeping them at bay.

    Charming...

Did a late season tilling job. As I pulled up, they were just finishing spreading fresh pig poop on the plot to be tilled. Fine, great fertilizer. Tilled it all up nice, went to load the tractor back on the trailer and noticed I had about 150 feet of lobster trap rope (aka "pot warp")...
