The sway bars for the lower arms on the 3 point hitch on my B2650 use a pin with a hairpin clip on the bottom for the adjustment.

The hairpin is tough to see and hard to handle with my arthritic old hands so I put a keychain ring on them to make them easier to get hold of. I was a little worried they might snag and get pulled off, but so far so good.

PHPAUL,

Now that right good thinking you did there! Thanks for sharing it!

Thanks! A good idea, my solution has been for the big ones on the back blade to keep a screwdriver in the little toolbox and run the screw driver tnrough the hairpin and use both hands to pull. Sometimes I beat on it with the handle of the screwdriver to get it to go back. And that's after taking it down the basement and putting it in a vice to spring it a bit...

On anything I need to remove often I throw the hair pins else ware and use these.

THIS!!!!

I've converted all of my pinned pins to use these except for the two that are on the 3ph side bars (sorry I don't know their technical name). They are chained, hence I haven't drilled them out to take 3/16" versions of what NIW posted.

I fricking hate those bent pin thingies, worst thing ever devised.

I've got them all the way down to 1/8" (but those are really light weight).
I too have drilled out the holes on the pins to take the 3/16 ones and they work great.

I was thinking about the same issue with my B2601 but I want to keep the pin attached to the stabilizer. Still thinking but your idea is definitely going to be part of the solution. Smart guy!

This is my solution to the awkward clevis pin set up on the stabilizers. Hodge uses a similar set up which I used to have on my BX2360.

I have replaced the rings pictured below with much larger ones, but it will be about two weeks before I can photograph & post them.

I would think you would be up there 24/7 this time of the year! ;)
I would be, if I had anything to say about it!:(
Between Mandatory Attendance at inlaw functions, (You vill be there, and you vill like it!) emergency repairs at the inlaw's old, severely neglected house, helping a friend who is now in a care facility, the odd doctor, dentist, or whatever appointment, helping two different friends move, and a dozen other things I am probably forgetting, it's lucky I get there at all. I thought retirement would give me more time for me, but it seems that everyone else assumes that because I'm retired, I now have plenty of time to do things for them!

I was supposed to have twenty-five+ tons of 1 1/2" minus fill delivered to my driveway project (more on that later) yesterday, but I had to reschedule until next Monday because of commitments made for me by others. Really pisses me off. Guess I might have to turn into an a$$h@l# and tell everyone to foff.
Sorry, rant off.

Fortunately, I was born an a$$h@l# so my retirement (so far...) has been pretty satisfying.

My scheduling problems are self-inflicted: I can't seem to pass up an opportunity to make a few bucks on the side. Good news is, wifey understands and agrees that we live on our retirement and SS income, what I make on the side is mine to spend as I see fit. Not that I don't share, but if I choose to buy something frivolous, I don't get any grief.

I have to remind myself regularly that time is more valuable than cash, and harder to come by.

I could almost live with that, all this crap for me seems to cost me money. I drive people around & haul stuff & apparently everyone thinks my F350 4wd crew runs on air, no offers for fuel or anything for my time.
Example:
FIL had water heater die, Homer Depot quoted him $785 to replace, until they got there & found that he had moved it years ago from inside the house to the garage, and it was not to code- $1650 to bring it to code or they wouldn't touch it. He thought they were ripping him off, so I get to spend a full day moving crap just to get to it, then another day & a half bringing it to code & installing the new heater, only to find out when he moved it, he reversed the hot & cold lines, so I had to come back the next day & reverse the plumbing. The total for parts was $620, and he generously gave me $40 for my 3 days of labor, use of my tools, & mileage. He was going to pay a stranger $785, & I do the $1650 job for $620, and I get $40. WTF?!
The only alternative was probably divorce, so I just get to grin & bear it.
Oops, I'm sniveling again..
