new to Kubotas and new to this site. Just thought I'd report on my first real work day with the little Kubota. Took the L185 out to our hunting property which hasn't been mowed all year. It has been very wet this year out in west texas so grasses and weeds are crazy tall. Several areas had heavy growth about waist high.

My Kubota came with a 5' brush hog and a hydraulic blade in the front. I got to use both today :D Cut all the trails with the brush hog and as expected... it blew right thru the high grass and weeds with no issues. I ran it with PTO at low and 4th gear with engine at about 2200rpms and worked like a charm. Not exactly a fast mowing speed but got the job done and I didn't want to push things too much the first time out.

Once the trails were all mowed, it was on to job #2 which was to push some old trash into a pile. I used the blade and took me all of 30mins to get the area with the trash all cleaned up so the stuff was in a nice small pile and kinda out of sight. I might go back later and dig out an area to push the stuff into and push dirt over it but for now, just getting it all in one small area was good enough.

Job #3 was a bit tougher. I had some major wash out areas and low spots on the main road going across the property. I used the blade and just took my time slowly scraping and filling down the road. It took me a long time but I did get it looking much better.

So put about 4 hours on the Kubota today and worked like a champ!

Didn't take a pic today but here is what the tractor looks like.

oldrockfan, welcome to the forum.

You've gone out and got yourself in a predicament. You've been on that machine long enough to want to tweak this and tweak that. Then you'll need another implement or two. There's just no end to it. Better sign up for some counseling before it gets even worse.:D

(If you don't you'll find yourself donation tractor time for neighbor's jobs) Best of luck to ya!

I must admit that it did seem more like fun than work. I was really impressed at how well that little tractor pulled. The only time it balked at all was when using the front blade and only when I got carried away and started cutting too deep. It was simple fix to just bump the front hydraulic up a touch as needed to keep it going.

D2cat I know exactly what you mean. After that trip... I went right up to my local tractor supply and ended up coming home with a 5' box blade :) There was a sale at northern tools for the 4th and I was just talking to the tractor supply manager and he offered to match their discount. I should mention that I really like our local tractor supply... nice folks and great customer service.

Edited to add: thought I should add that my little L185 was bought from original owner and only has approx. 1200 hours on it. Everything works and even came with original purchase records, owners manual and all service records from the local Kubota dealer. Neat little tractor!

I really am enjoying the Kubota. I've been out two days running it now and put about 8 hours on the clock. Tractor running great and getting a lot of work done. We are expanding our existing water hole now with the 5' box blade I bought at tractor supply.
