Simple, cheap and handy Pull Pin Solution

The sway bars for the lower arms on the 3 point hitch on my B2650 use a pin with a hairpin clip on the bottom for the adjustment. The hairpin is tough to see and hard to handle with my arthritic old hands so I put a keychain ring on them to make them easier to get hold of. I was a little...

Awesome dogs / Crazy pets Thread

I had a dog like that. His favorite trick was to "help" me when I was working under a vehicle. He'd wait until I was wedged in place good and proper, then crawl under, give my face a thorough washing and steal a tool on his way out. He thought that was the greatest game ever. He'd get out...

    Need a diesel truck....?

Back in the early 70's when I was in the Navy, I was stationed in Japan. I was also heavily into dirt bikes and had one of those type of "trucks" to haul my bike on. Had a 360cc, two cylinder, two stroke engine and a 4 speed trans. I'm 6' tall and weighed about 175 at the time (ah, youth...)...

    Customer service...

Yup. Seems to me that kind of service happens more at "Mom & Pop" outfits than at corporate establishments. I got real similar service from a one-man machine shop that builds racing cranks and engines for motorcycle drags. I was desperate to find a shop that had some clue about motorcycle...

    Customer service...

Yup, but 90% of the Volvo-driving, Birkenstock-wearing, granola-eating Yuppies they sell $15,000 lawn mowers to would never have questioned it, just flopped their VISA Gold card on the counter and walked out the door smiling.

    Customer service...

D2Cat, that's precisely why I have a Kubota now. When I bought the John Deere 750 back in 1988, the local dealer was a one-man show. The owner was the salesman. (He did have a mechanic out back). Bob was the one that answered the phone and made all the deals. Compact tractors and lawn...

Hydraulic fittings won't lock into new valve

It took me a couple sessions to figure out that coupler too, as I was used to the retracting collar type. With the tractor off and the implement on the ground, operate the valve lever fully in both directions three or four times to equalize the pressure, then yank them off.

    Splice hydraulic line?

I would imagine they'll crimp new fittings on the cut ends and then use a double male to thread them back together. Should be fine, and certainly cheaper than 14 feet of hose!

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

The little tool tray behind the seat on my B2650/cab A) isn't big enough, and B) does not give me a warm fuzzy feeling storing tools and pins and such next to all that glass. So: I mounted a mini-ammo can to the loader mount. There were three drilled and tapped holes in the loader mount...

    How full is your barn/garage/bldg?

In about 1990, I built a garage, 48 feet wide and 24 feet deep. In about 90% of that space, if you need to move, you do it by shuffling sideways. In 2001, I built a 20x30 two story barn with a 10x20 ell. The loft area has stayed fairly open as it's used to store hay for the critters. The...

    Grille Guard

The "grille guard" that came with the loader on my new B2650 is a joke. It might help if something fell straight down off the loader, but not much, and any sticks/twigs/brush would go through it at will. I learned my lesson on that with my old JD, and it's an expensive lesson to learn. So I...

    Quick couple question

I just got a new B2650 too, and I used the "$750 off on any attachment" rebate to get a set of Land Pride pallet forks right there at the Kubota dealer. Slick system!

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

I am just amazed at the difference in productivity between my old JD 750 and the new Kubota. Had a minor cleanup job, an area about 25 by 100 feet that had been used for a dump for some time. The customer wanted me to clean it up, pile the brush and scrap lumber for later burning, then get...

    Daily Chuckle

Re: Daily Chuckel I fervently hope not! JB is what we call a "RINO" - Republican In Name Only. Don't want to get into politics too deeply (This place is refreshingly free of such rants) but I really do feel the 2016 elections are critical.

Lost hydrostatic drive forward and reverse

Sure sounds like something in the pedal linkage came apart or broke. Should be fairly obvious via a visual inspection. You may have to do a little body work disassembly to see it all.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Yup, they do. That's why I just use it to fill holes in the drive and such.

    New Owner

I think you'll love your new toy! I'm tickled with my B2650. I splurged for the cab and it's just SO much more comfortable to operate. In a sick sort of way, I'm actually looking forward to blowing snow next winter!

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

The town sands the roads all winter. Of course, they also plow them, and wing back the banks. All of this means that a lot of the sand that started out on the road winds up in my lawn over the course of a winter. Soooooooo, I spent a few pleasant hours power-brooming the sand/rocks/chunks of...
