    L245 Power Issue?

I have a L185 (smaller version) very similar to the L245 as I understand it. There should be three PTO positions as you noted. 1 = 540 (from memory this is toward the front and to the left position) 2 = 700 3 = 1000

    Progressive Lenses

If you never wore glasses before you may not be able to adjust.. I tried them several years ago and could not ever get used to the blurred vision to the sides, blurred vision at your feet and having to turn your head to read (instead of scanning with eyes only), not being able to see the...

    Digging shallow well with phd

Search for "boston digger" and it may be what you need to clean out the hole. Picture shown below. Back in the old days when I was free labor for my father we would use a 1 pound coffee can to reach down into the hole to clean it out. After you reached as far as your arm could then we had...

    L1801 blowing oil

Looking at the picture of your filter base (which is not the best diagnosis tool!) the threads look fairly rough like it may have been slightly misthreaded in the past and then cleaned up. Since you have it off, I would proceed with getting a new one (like I think you already are). If you...

    Ants in my battery charger

In the south there are fire ants and now something called Rasberry ants. They came from South America and have spread across the warmer climate area. I don't think they would be up north as far as you are. Both are attracted to electrical enclosures - something about the ozone created or...

l185dt no shifters on the hump

It may be what is called a "creeper gear" See this link and search the term "creeper gear" and you will find others. http://www.orangetractortalks.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1685&highlight=creeper+gear I have a L185 2WD and there are two shifters one the hump, left is PTO and right is...

    L2900 Sticking Clutch Pedal

looking at the parts manual (on the Kubota website) there is not any grease points on either of those parts. You may want to try some penetrating oil (PB blaster, Kroil...) but there are oil seals on the shafts (outside of roller bearings) that may make it impossible to get past.

    Bolt Trouble

Congratulations! Where (on the tractor) was the set screw (holding in the pin) installed at? No mention of that was in the work shop manual I have. Looks like you have a fairly serious "groove" in the pin. I assume that is wear on the pin, is that correct?

    L245 Starting Problem

Since you changed the filter did you bleed the fuel lines? There would be quite a bit of air in the filter (I am assuming a spin on filter like my L185 has) There are two vents on the system that will allow air to escape. First is on the top of the filter housing. Loosen 2 to 3 turns. When...

    Bolt Trouble

I looked at the parts diagram and Work shop manual and there is no mention of any cross pin or bolt that would retain that large pin. It is simply held in place by the nuts on both ends. There are supposed to be bushings on both ends and perhaps it is hung up on them. I assume the front end...

    bucket size

I do not understand this formula and believe it is not correct. I think you meant measure in inches and then divide by 12 to get into feet but that is not correct - you need to divide by 12 three times to get each measurement in feet. The formula is measure the width, depth and height each in...

fluid leaking from pto shifter boot,l295dt

I have no picture but they are usually a tube under the seat that looks like a sideways question mark. Tube size is about 1/8 to 1/4 inch diameter. Usually on the left side near the top of the case. You can look at the parts list on Kubota.com and see what it looks like.

Land Pride PTO Shaft - How to grease

How do you remove the plastic shrouds on each end to get to some fittings? There is usually a brand name on the PTO shaft and cover. Finding that can help find more detailed information on them. The plastic shield usually attaches to bearings (plastic) and require the pushing of a clip or...

    Modern cutters?

I have the 4" Competitor from Modern Ag and am very happy with it. Heavy duty construction. Don't know what you are doing but you may want to look into flail mowers - they leave a better cut and don't windrow the grass so bad.

    brakes not working properly

There will be some adjustment (probably something like a turnbuckle) for each brake pedal. Adjust the right side so it applies brake later and the left side so it applies brake earlier in the pedal travel. You can get them closer but probably never exact...

    3 point hitch lift problem

If you have multiple holes where the upper link attaches to the tractor, you may want to use a different hole... I can't recall which one will help lift it higher, but you should be able to search that.

    L245H manuals and parts

Messick's has these manuals. http://www.messicks.com/dept/Kubota-L-SeriesOwnersManuals.aspx http://www.messicks.com/partdetail/97897-10510.aspx I would not bother with the parts manual since Kubota.com has it online now.

    newbie 3 point question

I don't know what exactly you mean by breaking your back but you should not be picking anything that heavy up. Here is how I do it, perhaps it will help you out. Back up to the implement - being on flat ground really is best. Get one of the eyes on the 3PH fairly close to the pin. Lower the...
