Hydraulic filter unseats in cold weather

I doubt that the fluid viscosity has much to do with the seal failing. I understand it that your filter is a spin on type and that the gasket between the filter and the tractor fails. Then the fluid is blown out or leaks out since the filter is below fluid level. It seams that you may need...

    L185 2wd have a few issues questions

BTW there are some pictures in my photo album that show the key and the starter knob. Almost every part I have wanted has been available at the dealer. Use the illustrated parts guide on Kubota corporate website.

    L185 2wd have a few issues questions

Ozzie, 1) Sent you the manual (in two parts) Let me know if you did NOT get it 2) Here is how the key and starter knob work on my tractor. They are fairly stock. The key is on the left side of the dash. First position is the start position (basically turns on the electrical circuit)...

3 pt. lever wont work properly.

Glad that you have it somewhat figured out. The dealer may be able to get the parts, or you may be able to order them online from Messicks. The link to Weaver's (below) shows the parts you are looking for so they may have them. You can also buy the whole thing on E-bay for ~$500...

    L185 2wd have a few issues questions

Got so involved in #1 that I did not talk about #2! Do you know how to use the glow plugs and the compression release? Start sequence I use - Turn the key on. Turn the starter lever CCW and hold it there for a few seconds (10 to 30). Pull the compression release knob and turn the start...

    Bolt size?

I am guessing but they will probably be M12 x 1.25 (pitch) x 25 mm long. High strength. That is what they are on my L185 and Kubota seems to love that size.

    L185 2wd have a few issues questions

I own a L185F also. There is some confusion that you may have. The tractor has the overrun clutch built in. This is a "ratchet" device inside the tractor that will dive the PTO in one direction but let the implement free wheel when the clutch is pressed in. In other words you can stop the...

Tractor won't start after changing filer on L1801

Don't let the starter get too hot or you will burn it out. Don't crank it too long at one time. Be sure to let the starter cool down between cranking cycles.

    YEAAAAA I got an L245 4X4 FEL

I assume this is what you are looking for (link below). If you don't find them close I think Tractor Supply will ship them to you. I would also figure that most dealers would be able to order them or you could find them on line...

    steering issue

There are two articles on this website on rebuilding the steering. There are numerous threads about problems and fixes also. This is the first of the two articles: http://www.orangetractortalks.com/2010/01/how-to-repair-a-steering-box-part-1/

    l-185dt optimal Working temp

How are you measuring the temperature? There is nothing on mine to measure the temperature with other than the whistle which only tells you "tractor is hot". I recall some discussion on here where they were using infrared thermometers to read the block temps. Have you searched for answers...

bolt size in MX 5100 bumper

I have no idea of the proper bolt size. I do know that for some reason Kubota LOVES to use extra fine threaded bolts, most of the M12 size. This bolt size has three thread pitches. Coarse Fine Extra fine M12-1.75M12-1.5M12-1.25 There seems to be a break point...

3 pt. lever wont work properly.

I think you will find that your steering box has gotten water in it and frozen and is near failure/ somewhat failed. See the two articles on this website. Here is the link to the first one. http://www.orangetractortalks.com/2010/01/how-to-repair-a-steering-box-part-1/

    Flailing about tractors

A couple of other things about these flail mowers (as I read) is that they chop up the material a bit better and it is not windrowed as much. The front of the mower starts chopping into the material at a taller height and then as the mower moves along it cuts off more and more until the height...
