It's just me but, I'd check local Rad shops first. Find one that really does recores and repairs. So many has gone to just ordering replacements around here.

If it has only 600 original hr's, i'd first look at a clutch adjustment. this is especially if it hasn't been done yet or recently. Is this deck original to the tractor, is it used regularly or taken off and on between other work?

Your repair would be dependent on what model tractor you have. But, if I was guessing it would be an earlier "B" style tractor. If so, behind the brake drum(s) I believe there will be an "O" ring serving as an oil seal.

Morning and welcome! Now to the problem, I had a similar problem when the Previous Owner of my B7100 was using whatever he could jam in the slot of the switch. It needed replacing. Which is what I had done when when I had it in the shop for a clutch R&R. Solved all the ills, clutch too!! Haha

While there are several folks that have obviously fought Bamboo, there are apparently several solutions for its eradication. we can all agree that its a difficult beast that demands due diligence to solve it in our varying landscapes. Not all of our properties are alike.
