Hey everybody, I am using my dads old b7000 kabota and I got to say its a nifty lil unit. anyways my issue is im trying to till my grandmothers garden for her and the pto seems to stall easy causing the tractor to stop dead in its tracks. My dad has owned this for a few summers now and said it never had any issues before/never stalled the pto before. I had to make multiple passes in the 1st-low range. I also did my moms garden and it was the same issue. Anybody might know what would cause this? I'm not sure if this is a clutch issue or something else. For starting and stopping the clutch seems fine to me (no creeping forward or hard take offs Etc).
And again my dad says it has never had a issue before and he had done these gardens every year. If someone ha any info that would be great. THANKS.

It might be that you are running the tiller in too high a speed on the PTO. I think the B7000 has a 3 speed PTO, check to make sure it is in the lowest speed, and try it that way.

What size tiller, what type of soil, how deep are you tilling, forward or reverse rotation tiller, does it have a slipper clutch on the pto shaft? If it does, you need to loosen the nuts, make sure that the two plates are free to turn, and then tighten them down- I do mine to about 4 ftlbs of torque. That way, the clutch on the shaft will slip before it stalls/damages the drivetrain of the tractor. Honestly, it sounds like the tractor is operating fine, but that you are either tilling too fast, too deep, or are using too big of a tiller.

Its hard to tell the model, the stickers and tags are not to legible anymore, but from what I can tell its a "rs1000" tiller.
The soil is just what seems like a mild dirt with not much if any sand in it. I'm in the lowest gear while in low range it will travel and I got the pto in the lowest speed its got. I was talking to my dad more about it today and he was telling me he used to be able to drop the tiller as far down it would go and chew up dirt just fine but not any more. I also notice when it stalls out the pto the tractor speed stops all together and it doesn't seem to bog the engine down at all. it jut stops tilling and moving while still maintain R.P.M.

So the engine stays running, while forward motion and pto rotation stops? Then you have a clutch issue.

I was wondering if that was the issue, not looking forward to changing that. Does anyone know where I can download a workshop manual? Anyone also know what the North American version of the b7000 is for locating a new clutch.

Thanks everyone for the help in narrowing down the cause to the issue. Much appreciation.

You should try adjusting the clutch first, in case there is any life left in it. It may have already been adjusted, and it may have none left. Worth a try, though.

It's most diffidently a clutch issue. It should have stalled the engine too. Follow Hodge's instructions to adjust the clutch first, especially if it hasn't been done in recent years. If a R&R is necessary, you can do it. Many folks on here have done it themselves. I had one done at a dealer a few yrs ago, billed out to $800.
