So the replacement parts for the engine you want, is the only problem you have is a dripping fuel line/tap/filter? This is a standard kubota type filter/tap assembly and would certainly be available, or something from another model would fit in the same place I expect, may have to reroute fuel...

Looks like it to me, many engines are made in China under licence. In a lot of cases they will get access to older model engines.

Looking at a Chinese built genset which appears to have a Chinese made Kubota engine in it, probably under licence, does anyone know if all the specs are the same? (I know quality and tolerances may be less but as long asall parts fit from Kubota)

Just for fun drop it off again then back up to it and put it on again, if it's anything like the B21 hoe, once you have done it a couple of times you'll have it down to a few minutes I expect.
