    Kubota help

For future reference, the tractor is an L2850, with 34 horsepower and was manufactured sometime between 1985 and 1990 (tractors don't go by "model year" as in the auto industry). Good advice about getting replacement hoses from a local hydraulics shop or auto/truck parts supplier like NAPA.

B2650/ BH77 vs elm stump video

I'll differ some with what that dealer told you... pulling on a stump so hard the FRONT of the tractor raises off the ground is incredibly hard on the backhoe and the tractor, regardless of whether the hydraulics go into relief or not. You could do that with an L45 too, but with enough of such...

B2650/ BH77 vs elm stump video

Thanks for posting the video. Glad the repair was handled well. Have to confess I was anticipating the breakage from early on in the video. Every time the bucket curled the whole tractor moved back, with the stabilizers being the only thing offering resistance. That's some heavy digging...

    Operation Manuals

Some years ago I found parts listings available for free downloading, but learned that parts numbers are often updated so what I downloaded was often obsolete. Better to use the online parts references. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk

Will clamp on forks/tooth bar work togerher

As others say, it depends on which forks and which toothbar you have. With mine, the toothbar is heavy enough that it adds quite a bit of reinforcement to the bottom lip of the bucket and helps protect it from bending under some heavy lifts.

    Controlling Speed

It may depend on just how precise your application rate needs to be. If you need very high precision, a simple gear tractor makes it easy to reproduce the same ground speed. The new hi-tech HST setup on the Grand L models achieves the same thing, along with a whole bunch of other capabilities...

Mowing to "get away from it"

It was mid-90's here yesterday, so I decided to wait until after supper to mow. When I finally got started at about 8:00 the heat had broken. Mowed 2 acres with ear buds streaming some good tunes beneath the noise reducing headset. A cup of coffee, a purring little diesel, some nice open...

    What is the basic difference?

You may have noticed some of these models have similar engine horsepower, however that is only one of several factors going into a tractor's ability to accomplish work. The different models reflect varying sizes, weights and power levels. Choosing which model is best suited to one's needs is...

    trading up from L3901

If the budget allows, compare the Grand L models in the same horsepower range as the MX5200 while you are shopping. Some folks see just the "deluxe" aspect of those models and don't notice they also offer other work-related enhancements also. Particularly for your use, the GL models have a...

    Backhoe for L2550DT

+1 to what Pat says about the 3 point type hoes. Reflecting back, that was the same good advice folks gave me when I was looking for a BH. Having used my subframe hoe a lot since then, my sense is that most of the work would have been very hard on the tractor if it had been done with a lighter...

    3 point hitch info

They are sized for the model series of tractor. So you're looking for ones suitable for the "L" series or, preferably, "Grand L" Kubota models. I think the 3 point setup on the Grand L's remained the same for the 30, 40 and 60 series. There are a bunch of generic linkage kits on Ebay at the...

    3 point hitch info

Any dealer will be happy to take your money and order a new factory set of 3 point links. Sometimes they show up on EBay, etc, but you have to be patient and keep looking. And there are tractor salvage yards the sell used parts. Again, you have to do some snooping on the internet to find one...

    Getting on a backhoe

Here's an alternative suggestion: By the time you buy a BX25 and spend money fabricating some kind of mechanism to let you get in position to work the hoe, you might be able to invest about the same $$$ in a decent used B21 or B26 that might let you remain seated for such work. Much greater...

    L4400 won't start

Good luck... don't know if any of these rambling thoughts are helpful, but hope you find the problem. Just for clarification, when mounted on the tractor you can only get the fuel relay to click but everything else is dead. Then by trying some jumper wires to the starter you eventually got...

    L4400 won't start

I don't have any electrical or parts diagrams to reference for an L4400, but the original description of the problem still leaves me wondering if this isn't an interlock or wiring matter rather than a bad starter on a 200 hour tractor. Has that definitely been ruled out and I'm just not keeping...

    Purchasing Insurance

You'd have to compare the coverage details. KTAC covers off-premises operation and pays transportation costs, for example, that are generally not included in homeowner supplemental policies. Those seemed worthwhile to me, but everyone's needs are unique.

Pat's quick hitch? anyone discontinue use?

If you have the benefit of a paved surface for storing implements, placing them on dollies makes easy work of changing from one to another. You simply roll away one and roll the next up to the tractor. No struggles with the pins and adjusting the linkages is easier on the flat surface. Also...

    BX 2660 gear lever

It may be that the HST pedal is not returning exactly to the neutral position. If it's even slightly engaged, it will put enough pressure on the drivetrain to bind up and make shifting difficult. With mine, it's easy to shift to the neutral position when the tractor is coasting to a stop, and...
