Backhoe 4540 info or possible match

That would most likely be correct. I had a 2002 L4610 with the 4560 BH. The basic size and layout of your L4300 is very similar to my L4610 so it seems likely they might use the same BH. The 4560 was a strong, heavy 9 ft hoe with a full subframe permanently installed on the tractor. The...

lifting roof trusses with a fel

I'm thinking you would need something bigger and heavier than a B2301 to be placing those trusses using an extension pole. I once did some 14 footers using a Grand L and it did fine, but we rented a telehandler for larger trusses.

    2680 runs hot

Used a BX for mowing, etc. for 15 years. Lugbolt is exactly right. You have to clean the radiator fins periodically, depending on how much/how often you mow. Compressed air works, gentle water spray works (cold engine only!), avold power wash. I did mine maybe once a month during mowing...

    3 point hitch

Those are "telescoping arms". You release the lever and the ends slide out 3 or 4 inches to make it easier to pin the attachment without getting the holes exactly lined up when backing up to the attachment. There's a slot you lift the extension out of - once you have the pins in place, just...

    2022 Kubota LX2610 jerky

Hopefully the dealer has got it sorted out. You can find a wide variety of loader controls being used on various equipment. As you would expect, the more refined controls cost more. Both of my Kubotas had nice controls that readily made fine and combination movements even with heavy loads...

    2022 Kubota LX2610 jerky

There are two ways you can use that foot pedal. One way, where you put your whole foot on the pedal, is prone to being jerky and tricky to control. The other way, where you put your heel on the floor and press gently with your toe to go forward (just like the gas pedal in your car), gives...

    Location of Safety Switches L3010

Guess I'm getting old and forgetful! We had the L and a BX... the BX for sure had the seat switch, my recollection was the L would also cut the engine if the seat lifted. True confession: I bypassed the switches anyways. Good luck with your repairs. Those 10 series L's were and are really...

    Location of Safety Switches L3010

I had an L4610, a bit larger than your L 3010 but the same series and many of the same components. As I recall there should also be a seat safety switch on these tractors in addition to the ones you are checking. Should be shown somewhere in the the shop manual.

    Hydraulic (bucket) throttling

The way to adjust it is with the throttle. You don't need to operate at max rpm all the time. You don't want to putt-putt around at ldle either. The best engine speed varies from task to task. The BX is admittedly a very small tractor built to meet a particular price point, and it is not as...

    Hydraulic (bucket) throttling

The BX models all have a pretty small hydraulic pump. At full operating rpm you get maximum flow but the output drops off at slower engine speed. If things are too jumpy, try slowing down the engine before looking for more complex solutions.

    Kubota HST

500 hours since 1998 is very little use. If you haven't cleaned and lubed the linkages periodically (H-M-L, 2wd- 4wd, PTO, parking brake, etc.), they will collect crud and seize up or become hard to use. Using the tractor often and working the controls keeps things working. Keeping it parked...

    Time for Troubleshooting

The hydraulics on these little tractors don't do much until the engine is revved up. What engine speed are you using (i.e. near idle, moderate or pretty high)?

How to Remove 4-Pin LA681 Loader from L3710?

I knew a guy who had one of those older design loaders, like yours, on his Kubota. He never took it off because he thought it was too much hassle. Kubota stopped using that design on later models as you are seeing on YouTube. My tractor was slightly newer, and had the 2 pin design that was...

hydraulic fluid level; sight glass ... beginner error

Somebody correct me if I have it wrong but if you raise the front of the tractor and the fluid line finally appears in the sightglass, the fluid level is low, not high. If this happened after adding a gallon, the it was really low to begin with and still needs more. Unless the sightglass on...

    Back to HST problum

Hi ferguson, I just wanted to add that the L3130 was the lowest horsepower of the Grand L models Kubota offered when it was new and many buyers - including me - went with more power because the ones with about 30 hp were pretty heavy for the power they had, especially when they had HST, a...

    Frustrated w my L3800 pto cable….

As I remember it the cable was joined to the lever by some kind of clamp the was tightened with a scew. So it wasn't a problem of the screw working loose... you just could not ever tighten it enough to keep the cable from eventually sliding. Not a great design.

    Frustrated w my L3800 pto cable….

Had a similar problem with my 2002 L4610... probably the same design. Dealer tack welded the cable to the lever on the transmission case so it couldn't slip. Never had trouble with it again, cost nothing to fix. Seemed to me they had probably run into that issue before and figured out a cheap...

Is the rule of thumb, "if you can reverse up the hill, you can drive up the hill"?

By the way Troverman, congratulations on the new MX. Great tractor!

Is the rule of thumb, "if you can reverse up the hill, you can drive up the hill"?

Totally agree with that. You can safely work on grades if you are careful and stay within the limits of the equipment. But there is a limit to what is safe with every piece of machinery, considering how it is designed and the laws of gravity. Years ago I tried to help a guy (remotely), who...
