Hi,
I have an opportunity to buy a Kubota 4672 backhoe at a reasonable price. Is this unit compatible with my tractor (L2550DT)?
Quick replies are appreciated as I know that it will not last long.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for your reply, Pat.
I found the same result through Google. However, last night I located the Kubota manual for the loader 4672/4690 in pdf format (same manual for both models). The 4690 is one of the BH's that is approved for the L2550 in the chart. Comparing the 4672 to the 4690, they are exactly the same hoe except for the reach (72" vs90"). the weight difference is about 50 pounds between the two. Parts are all the same except for a few inches longer boom and dipper. Exactly the same dig force and hydraulic system.
I believe that I am good to go. I won't need to dig more than 6 feet deep and don't mind moving the tractor a bit more often.

I will pick it up tomorrow morning if it isn't hammered.

Ok I am glad you have it sorted! Just a little advice, backhoes on three points are very tough on machines! In my 2 plus decades at my dealership, I have seen top link brackets ripped off, broken lift covers and cracked differential housings.

Subframes are the key.

+1 to what Pat says about the 3 point type hoes. Reflecting back, that was the same good advice folks gave me when I was looking for a BH. Having used my subframe hoe a lot since then, my sense is that most of the work would have been very hard on the tractor if it had been done with a lighter duty hoe. Unless you're digging in beach sand, you always seem to encounter something (a rock, root, etc.), that will transfer stress back to the tractor.
