Hello, I was wondering why I recently experienced my low neutral and high gear binding? I now only have high gear and no neutral and no low gear. I was wondering if it was something major that let go?

Thanks
Finnagan Hutton.

Have you checked linkage?

I have taken a look at where the gear selector mates to the transmission and its like it is pressed into the fitting of which the end of the gear selector is in, and I don't know how to take it apart. I don't see a cable or anything like that, is there possibly a snap ring holding everything together?

Thanks
Finnagan

Actually, the lever bolts to a bellcrank and the bellcrank is rollpined to the lever going into the transmission.

I've had the same issue with my BX forever, sometimes the high-low range selector just doesn't want to move. Stop, rock the speed pedal a little forward and backwards and it eventually slips into place.

It may be that the HST pedal is not returning exactly to the neutral position. If it's even slightly engaged, it will put enough pressure on the drivetrain to bind up and make shifting difficult. With mine, it's easy to shift to the neutral position when the tractor is coasting to a stop, and once it's at rest, it slides into the other range easily.

It's also more finicky when in 4wd since there can be some front - rear binding in the drivetrain... helps to keep the front wheels straight, and rocking it a bit will relieve binding, as noted.
