proud new owner of b2301 with some questions

I think he meant chains on the front tires, because if you grip with them it will put to much stress and break the insides. I don't think there's any accuracy in that, but I may be wrong. When changing from 4wd to 2wd, just as with the diff lock on/off, when I disengage them, I do it strait...

    2650 vs 2920 engine HP

Bigger garage! I'm sure there's a few ways to increase the power without sacrificing reliability. Some people buy bigger, some people build bigger. I'm a tinkerer so I tend to fall in the latter. Just know that most will void any warranty's. There's always increasing injector size, but you can...

    Winter?

I upgraded from a 2wd tractor with single stage 42" blower and unheated cab to a 4wd kubota with dual stage 60" blower and heated cab, and this is what I get for it. A brief dusting in early december and nothing else.

    Cab progress

Bought my chute control switch: http://www.ebay.com/itm/232209670562 Chutes left/right will be controlled by a power window motor, up/down will be by linear actuator, and that little joystick will do it all. Rated at 60a it should be more than capable of handling the motors.

    Soundproofing cab on B2650HSTC

Please post your results. I'm looking to soundproof mine as well. The plan is to use a rubber mat and cut to fit on the inside which will insulate from the underside, then maybe take off the dash and cut a rubber piece and put it between the gas tank and the dash, as I think I have a good...

    Hydraulic Chute Rotator

If you've already got the parts, then yea. The original motor you linked was $100, plus $20-30 hoses, it can get pricey. I put an electric chute with power window motor on my other tractor 5 or so years ago, and it's performed flawlessly. I've debated the linear actuator, just haven't made the...

    Hydraulic Chute Rotator

Why not buy a $20 power windows motor and make a mount for that, then get a ON-OFF-ON momentary switch and put it on the dash. A good speed, a lot cheaper, and no need to mess with the hydraulics.

    Kubota B8200 Remote Start

The price of the real thing is a bit higher, especially one that can do glow plugs. Having never installed something like that, I wanted to go basic because if it goes wrong I have to fix it.

    Kubota B8200 Remote Start

This one does the starter and glow plugs, glow plugs got an extra 30a relay for $4.99 from Pepboys: http://www.ebay.com/itm/231890564142?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT This one puts the key switch to ON. No additional relay required...

    Kubota B8200 Remote Start

As part of my cab project I decided to give remote start a go. I'm using 2 wireless relay boxes from china, about $8 each, plus a 30a relay for the glow plugs. One relay bypasses the key switch to ON, the other is a 2 relay system which bypasses the starter and activates the starter solenoid and...

    Cab progress

What a headache today has been. Working out the electronics for remote start. The 2 channel is for starter and glow plugs. Press and hold A for 15 seconds to prime glow plugs, then press and hold B until it starts. Those relays are set up to press and release, so I hold down and it's on, soon...

    Cab progress

Only a small fortune. I average 7-8mpg. I need to get my diesel going again, get up to 13-14mpg. That v10 just sucks gas.

New Kubota Owner (Implement category question)

It's not just weight, but size as well. I hooked up my 7' 3pt blade from my 1951 ferguson TO30 to my b8200, which is a good sized tractor. When I raised it, it came an inch off the ground.

    Winter?

I've asked winter to hold off until I've finished building my cab. Now that I'm just about done, temps drop next week and flurries aren't far behind.

    Which color would you choose?

I used home depot orange from home depot when i resprayed my tractor. However i just used it for panels, all steel is a dark blue/grey from the factory. I've resprayed a bit of it to make it look nice in a few places. it's nice and bright though.

    b7000 steering play

There's two bearing packs, at the top and bottom of the steering box that the steering shaft go through. Water gets down inside, and they desintegrate instead of holding the shaft in place. This allows you to turn the wheel and free play without turning the arm which moves the tires. Here's a...

    Cab progress

Busy day today. Wrapped up the electrical minus the head unit. Have 4 posts waiting for jb weld to dry so I can attach the head unit holder. Flood lights, flashers, backup camera heater fan, voltage meter, usb ports, phone mount are all in place. Wires are mostly cleaned up, still working on...

    Cab progress

Got the flasher working! Turns out I had a bad ground on the chassis, so even when hooked up, it only partially worked. It does have an annoying click, hopefully I wont' hear it when the tractor is running, or I might just replace it with something else. Got the speakers mounted to the top...

    Cab progress

Wig-wag flashers and flood lights hooked up. Flasher relay is not opperating as it should, one is on all the time, while hte other flashes. Amazon wants me to return it at my expense, buy another, and pay shipping for that one as well. I'm a bit annoyed with that. Basically paying full price...
