Newb in a hurry to buy needs advice

DT means dual traction, but DT is only added to the model number of tractors that do not have HST.

Newb in a hurry to buy needs advice

Either model will do what you need, even a L3800 will do. Go test drive and pick the one you like. We have 10x that much land and the L3800DT does all we need... Myself, I'd get a gear drive with clutch, but if you can't run a manual, get the HST.

My new baby got dirty today

Take the FEL off when mowing and that wont be a problem any more... The weight of the FEL is taking weight off the rear and putting it on the front axle...

Most dealers and tractor folks will tell ya loaded tires are all ya need, but they are so wrong! :o The info is in the FEL manual, but seems nobody reads em.

Make Sense to Retrofit a Coolant Recovery Tank?

I wouldn't retrofit. Never had any trouble with my old Kubotas. But I would turn down or turn off the tunes so I could hear what the tractor is doing. ;)

How do you you fuel up your tractor?

My local small hardware store has them, price around $25-28 or so. The cheap cans are around $13-$15 and are worthless! The L3800 is a pain to fill, but these cans work much better than all my old cans. I also have a 1.25 gal No-Spill for my chainsaw mix and I even like it better!

How do you you fuel up your tractor?

5 gallon 'No-Spill' brand cans, filled with 5 gallons of diesel. Never spill a drop and don't need a funnel.

    Running in 4WD

Yep! It's one of those things dealers never mention. But very important for any loader work!!! Nice work!

    Maintenance every 50 hours?

 Well, my L3800 doesn't have the quick release bucket, so that could be the diff. Mine does have zerks on the 4 pins at the bucket.

The front pivot points do have zerks, or they are supposed to. Need to look real close there!

L3450 with LOW hours blows blue smoke

Sounds like it wasn't maintained very well, with the air filter condition and dust. That said, with use it might get better? Our old L3750 been blowing a little blue smoke for 13 years and it just keeps on chuggin...
