Most tractor dealers rate their tractors something like this sub compact, compact. standard and go on from there. So having said that where would my L3800 with 38 or 39 horses fallin?.Frank
That's right and the plain jane part is the big reason I bought one.The L3800 is a standard compact tractor, it has no thrills, no bells and whistles just a plane jane workhorse.
Yep! To quote Scotty on a Star Trek movie, "The more complicated you make the plumbing, the easier it is to stop it up".That's right and the plain jane part is the big reason I bought one.
That's good man!Yep! To quote Scotty on a Star Trek movie, "The more complicated you make the plumbing, the easier it is to stop it up".
Works for me too!COMPACT ??? I beg your pardon.....In my head I rate them as the following:
BX-sub compact...
B-compact...
L-large...
M-massive...
Thanks
I think it comes down to perspective. I have a 63 JD 2010, it's only 35 hp but makes my L3800 look very small. Now if you were only used to say the lawn tractor size, the L3800 will seem huge.COMPACT ??? I beg your pardon.....In my head I rate them as the following:

I agree. But will add, the L3800 is impressive for it's size!I think it comes down to perspective. I have a 63 JD 2010, it's only 35 hp but makes my L3800 look very small. Now if you were only used to say the lawn tractor size, the L3800 will seem huge.
To me the L3800 is a compact tractor but I've had non tractor people say it was really big.
Without a doubt...I agree. But will add, the L3800 is impressive for it's size!
I got it!Of course I added my perspective as a novice tractor owner and hoped folks would find the humor.
