    UDT or Gear Oil

Kubota says to use one or the other. So it's kind of hard to mess up here... :D

    UDT or Gear Oil

We're talking about the front axle here. Gears & bearings, no pumps or major oil flow. I've had 3 Botas since 1984, the first two had 80/90. The newest L3800 has UDT in the front. I'm just over 100 hours and fixin to change it soon with gear oil... UDT is a hydraulic oil that just happens to...

    UDT or Gear Oil

80/90 is a gear oil. UDT is hydraulic oil... ;)

    UDT or Gear Oil

UDT is so thin it starts leaking at the hubs after a few hundred hours. Seems the 80/90w doesn't do this. When I change mine I'll be using 80/90 gear oil.

    Maintenance every 50 hours?

Front axle pivot point is VERY important! Grease fittings front and back of the front axle.

    Maintenance every 50 hours?

Like said, there are more than two grease points. You do have a manual for the tractor and the FEL, right?

    Maintenance every 50 hours?

Maintenance schedule is in your manual, look it over real good.

The hydraulic pressure will vary a bit between individual tractors. Thus two rigs with same loader might act a little different.

    New tractor..

What's wrong with the L3560? I've always bought used Kubotas, should not be too hard to find a low hour L3240...

    L4600 vs MX 4700

Ya did good! I wouldn't worry much about HST, I like gear drive better.

    L4600 vs MX 4700

If it's 4x4 gear that is a great price! :D

The smaller bucket digs better and a heaping load of gravel/dirt spilling off all four sides is not close to the lift limit on mine. I rarely need forks, but I have a set and I might build a frame for them. I'll just use the bucket pins. Not as easy to change out, but pulling four pins ain't...

    L4600 vs MX 4700

That sounds like a Very Good deal! Nice tractor also!

I have the standard bucket and this is one reason I wanted it. I feel it fits the size of this tractor better. The standard one is also closer to the pins, thus slightly higher lift capacity.

The FEL on my L3800 has impressed me, but I will put a gauge on it at some point just to see if it'll do more.

    L4600 vs MX 4700

Sounds like a good dealer. I see now he was comparing 2wd MX vs 4wd L... The MX will be heavier in the rear than the L4600. But either will need 3 pt counter weight. I to am surprised your farrier made that comment. It is not common enough knowledge it seems...

    L4600 vs MX 4700

Your farrier needs to be taught how to use a FEL. Counter weight Needs to be on the 3pt hitch for any loader work! Especially with these smallish tractors. Your dealer is wrong, the MX4700 is heavier than the L4600. Both tractors will handle 1000 lbs bales with absolutely no problem.

Enough Power for 5' Finish Mower?

Worth repeating! I start my mowers at idle and then throttle up. The tractor in question should pull a 60" finish cut just fine.
