    MX5400 troubles

That’s really unlucky but just shows you what can happen. I also own a dozer, track loader and excavator all of which are much more suitable for rough woodland work as they have plated underbodies. At some point the tractors come out and just have you have reported it’s easy to have a serious...

    MX5400 troubles

Wow that is a problem at least you have Kubota insurance. Hope they can source an engine soon for you. My tractor use is mainly woodland, at times very rough ground. I added grill guards and later a lower chin guard from Lown Performance, I really like this lower front guard as I feel it...

Shear bolts? For a Woodland Mills WC68 chipper

I'd buy grade 5 and try them. I have to say I have had a couple of attachments that have been damaged using manufacturers OEM shear bolts where the bolt did not shear at all or did not shear before the damage was done. I try to work on the lighter side of OEM specifications for both shear...

    Hydraulic Top Link

Hydraulic top link is nice for many reasons and comes in useful with lots of 3pt attachments. It's hard to give them up once you have them. In the winter I have to remove my hydraulic top links on 2 tractors as my snow blowers use both sets of rear remotes. Come spring the snow blowers get put...

    oil dipstick

As others said it will get easier with a little use and time. I'm impressed that you are checking the oil level, so many people do not! It's good to get into the habit of the recommended list of checks. I'm typically not a daily user so I do try to get into that routine each time I use my...

Can a L2501 Lift a 1200lb large bale 6 inches off of the ground.

I did not say that the rear end of my tractor is raising, that is not the issue. What I’m saying is that it’s my experience with my L3901 that it’s maximum practical lift capacity is about 1,325 lbs with a load that has a center of gravity about 24” in front of the pins. My loader seriously...

Can a L2501 Lift a 1200lb large bale 6 inches off of the ground.

Loaded rear tires and 650lbs of rear ballast. I normally run at pto speed. I always carry loads low when transporting. Sorry but I don’t believe this machine will lift 2,000 lbs, at least no more than over a few inches high. A lot has to do with how far center of gravity is in front of the pins.

Can a L2501 Lift a 1200lb large bale 6 inches off of the ground.

This post was an interesting read, I was impressed to see the photo of the L2501 transporting 1,365lbs of bales. I own a L3901 and believe that I lifted as much as it could practically lift with the FEL. I’m talking about lifting something to a high pickup bed level. I have a set of UA 42”...

    Kubota OEM Grille guards 2022

Dan, I appreciate your comment and look forward to using mine in that way. I just saw a photo on another post here this evening about the chain box guard and think the chain box model is a great idea, I was not creative enough to work out that the current chin strap guard could be used this way...

    Mice

Poison blocks, glue traps and regular traps work well! There is nothing cute about critters that get into your equipment. They can really do some damage.

    Kubota OEM Grille guards 2022

I have already fitted grille guards to my L3901 and MX5800, on my L series I purchased a 2 piece Loan Performance guard that included their lower chin strap guard, the lower guard protects the area below the grill, this is a real necessity when you consider woodland use. Loan Performance have...

    L4701 vs MX5400

I’m really impressed with Lown Performance, they were the first to offer the protection of their lower chin guard below the grill guard, now they have turned that into a chain box, both are great ideas, particularly as I use my tractors in heavy woodland. I will be upgrading my MX 5800 with a...

Inexpensive slip on trailer mover for Forks

I have the same one as CGMKCM in the posting above. I like that I can put it on the forks in either direction. I use it with ball forward for normal trailers and then mount it with ball to rear for gooseneck trailers, with ball to rear I get a better lifting capacity

    WTB - R1 Ag Wheel & Tire Set to fit L2501 / L3301 / L3901

Will do, I run my L3200 and MX5800 on R1 ag wheel and tires that are both set to the narrow setting. I’m planning on setting these wheels to max track width on my L3901. The R1’s are quite a bit taller than the R3 turfs that are currently fitted, I will post some photos to show the difference...

    WTB - R1 Ag Wheel & Tire Set to fit L2501 / L3301 / L3901

Yes it was rimguard. Just picked them up yesterday, still sitting on the pallet, I will fit them over the next month or so, it’s cold and snowy here in Michigan.

MX6000 Grapple and Third Function kit

You have not explained what you plan to do with your grapple or how much you intend to use it. What type of land and how much land. In general I would only buy a dual lid grapple based on the reasoning that the grapple will adjust to the load you are carrying much more than a single lid model...

MX6000 Grapple and Third Function kit

I run a Titan 60” twin lid root grapple that is 650lb on my MX, it handles it well but I would not go much heavier as you want to leave a good capacity. If I’m cutting large trees, I will use the same grapple on my track loader as it has more capacity and less risk of tipping.
