I had a good day at my land clearing dead and down scot pines, at least It was until I broke a shear bolt on the brush hog. My fault , I was using the brush hog today more as a forestry mulcher than a rotary cutter. Glad the shear bolt broke as it should to protect the gear box and the L2501.

After the hot summer with drought conditions it was refreshing to have to wear some warmer clothes.

Dirtydeed posted about the Harbor Freight bolt on tow hooks for $8/ea, great idea!
Here's what I learned... I have a MMM on my B2601, and I mounted them to some existing holes on the side of the frame (fit great)! Then the first time I went to remove the MMM I realized they caused interference, fortunately there were factory holes on the front of the frame that they also bolted right up to!

A $5 exhaust pipe extension also shown

Thanks to everyone for all the great posts, information, and ideas!

Thought I'd share that these same Habor Freight tow hooks also bolt into factory holes on the front of the LX4020 frame.
Cheers, ☕!

Water service today. Couldn't pull the new service with the mini, so we got it hooked to the Ram dump. I was able to walk it out (about a 60 foot pull). We got extremely lucky.

Start (yuck)

Haven't used the tractor for a while, but I used it to bring a small generator up to the garage to work on it. Beats pulling it up the hill by hand. What did we all do before we had tractors?

Routine service of the snowblower and quick hitch.

The powder coat on the lift cylinder is peeling, but that project will be another day.

Mower deck off, and put the front hitch on as well as the PTO shaft.

Geddy helped.

I changed motor oil in the spring. No other tractor service needed this fall.

Our burn ban finally went off this week. I spent some time burning. The main pile cooked off quick:

Now I am feeding from the stockpile. The grapple is sooo great for this work.

The down side is, it is wet out, and that means mud. I am trying to minimize the squirreling around so I don't make too much of a mess. The rain has let up today, so I should be able to get things burned up without too much of a muddy mess.

Have a good day all.

I noticed your third function valve in the 3rd picture is similar to how I've done my L35. Is yours OEM?

Hooked up a rear LED light and hooked up the cab heater and added rubber floor mats today.
One question I do have for the techs here is I noticed my fan belt being ten yrs old looks a little worn and stretched.
I know I should change it and am going to. But looking at the fan in the plastic housing around the radiator it doesn't look like room enough to slide the belt over the fan to get it on without removing the fan possibly???

Went out to the farm Saturday. Beans are almost ready. Although the rain Friday and the drizzle on Saturday meant the beans would be waiting.

I'm no farmer, so please excuse my ignorance. Are the beans for feed or fuel? Or just as a cover to het mulched in?
We have a few fields like that around us. Just don't know what they do with em.
