I added a tach to my 2005 BX23 I don’t know why Kubota didn’t do this but it is handy when running the mid or rear pto attachments. My 2006 BX24 had on from the factory so I guess it just took Kubota a little while to catch on.
I put one on my BX2230 three years ago, and it works great. I even 3D printed an enclosure for it.

End result of clearing about an acre of woods behind my house to expand the backyard using the little B2601 with grapple and backhoe. Well over a hundred stumps dug up and burned or hauled away. 400 lbs of Kentucky 31 Tall fescue seeded with 50 bails of straw blown for cover. Been sitting in the dust for over a week. Anyone know a sure fire way to summon rain?

It has been a very wet year here in northern Nevada. I mowed my place in June and normally that's enough because we get no rain all summer so nothing grows back. This year with all the rain my place looked like an overgrown jungle so I had to mow it all again...just big weeds:

Porterhouse. Unfortunately, I had to share a little with my fur son. He always thinks that grilled food means it's for him.
In July, I bought my fur Labrador daughter her very own T-Bone for her 4th birthday.

sewer line repair today. It didn't look good when we opened it up. The 4" terracotta was broken out of the bottom draining into an old septic (tank) /cess pool. City sewer on the other side of the tank was just hanging by a thread in the "tank" and the city line (also 4" terra cotta dove into the tank. We were able to dig far enough back to get the pitch that we needed. The U-27 is a little beast.

Dig/Pipe:

Pump truck never came so we just filled the tank with stone (sewage and all).

Fill:

Slicked it off and cut her a new walkway path. Added some stone so they can re-lay the concrete slabs in the walkway later.

done. Outta there. On to the next one tomorrow

Mowed for the last time this year. Glad I waited another week.

Geddy helped.

This weekend we start the annual transition toward snow implements.

How well do the bricks work in a wood burning appliance compared to real wood?
I quit burning wood 8 years ago after the company I use to clean my wood stove and chimney gave me a few sample packs of wood bricks to try. After trying them I bought a skid and then I totally switched to wood bricks after that. The wood bricks burn hotter cleaner last longer on a full stove what more could you ask for. I'm retired and cutting and splitting and stacking firewood is not something I ever enjoyed but keeping warm in the winter is a must.

I had a good day at my land clearing dead and down scot pines, at least It was until I broke a shear bolt on the brush hog. My fault , I was using the brush hog today more as a forestry mulcher than a rotary cutter. Glad the shear bolt broke as it should to protect the gear box and the L2501.

After the hot summer with drought conditions it was refreshing to have to wear some warmer clothes.

Dirtydeed posted about the Harbor Freight bolt on tow hooks for $8/ea, great idea!
Here's what I learned... I have a MMM on my B2601, and I mounted them to some existing holes on the side of the frame (fit great)! Then the first time I went to remove the MMM I realized they caused interference, fortunately there were factory holes on the front of the frame that they also bolted right up to!

A $5 exhaust pipe extension also shown

Thanks to everyone for all the great posts, information, and ideas!

Thought I'd share that these same Habor Freight tow hooks also bolt into factory holes on the front of the LX4020 frame.
Cheers, ☕!

Water service today. Couldn't pull the new service with the mini, so we got it hooked to the Ram dump. I was able to walk it out (about a 60 foot pull). We got extremely lucky.

Start (yuck)
