    B2650 PTO lever Problem

Are you using the clutch? My B2920 behaves similarly. Sometimes I get the gear grind. I use the clutch to slightly get the PTO to move then try again.

Loaded tires vs ballast box vs neither

I have a B2920 which is essentially the same as your 2301. I use the loader and a back blade to clear snow. I also have the R4 tires, and found a decent improvement by loading the rear tires. Ballast box would do the same thing, but you can't run a rear blade. It also depends on the amount of...

    L3901 3 point Position Question

Do you have a rear remote? If so, make sure the remote lever is properly set to one position or the other. Otherwise, you can experience similar issues.

RPM's, HP and Torque, Oh MY!!!

I mowed 50 acres, twice a year, with a 4-foot flail mower behind a B2920. It took awhile but I got good at it. Now I use an MX4800 with a 6 foot flail. Much quicker, but the B got it done.

    Quick hitch advice

Yeah, hooking up to implements is a major pain. With my B-series it isn't too bad, because the tractor is small...you can just put the transmission in neutral and grab a wheel and roll the tractor a little bit forward or back. And the implements are smaller. But on the L4310 or MX4800, the...

    Quick hitch advice

Thanks North Idaho Wolfman! You're saying put the Cat 2 adapters over my Cat 1 implement lower pins to make there be less slop in pin-quick hitch connection. I'll pick up a couple of adapters, thanks.

    Quick hitch advice

I have no adapters. What are they needed for again? The balls on my MX are category II so I used those adapters to mount the quick hitch. All of my implements are cat I.

    Quick hitch advice

Thanks for the tip. The standard top link is a solid connection - pin cannot come out the top. This quick hitch link is open...pin could lift out? Or does the weight keep it in place? Why are there a bunch of adjustment holes for the quick-hitch top-link hook?

    Quick hitch advice

I'm very experienced with hooking up implements to a 3-point hitch, but I've never used a quick hitch. I bought a cheap one from Titan for my MX4800. It seems fine. I mounted it to my 3-point hitch, but the other end confuses me. I get how the latches on the bottom connect to the lower pins, but...

How long did your original battery last?

16 years for me! 2002 L4310 GST with 600 hours or so on it. Just replaced the original battery this late spring. It started fine in the coldest conditions last winter in NH. This tractor was never connected to a tender and sat under a carport-like structure. It would sits for weeks before being...

    Charging Battery while Running Tractor

They don't make them, but they source them from overseas (Korea / Japan) and for some reason they outlast any replacement battery you buy here. My 2002 L4310 had the original battery and it finally died this summer. 16 years! And my tractor sits outside under a carport style roof in cold NH...

When the exhaust thows dark smoke under load, Injectors?

Under a heavy load, with a diesel tractor that has mechanical fuel injection, what happens is that the engine bogs down and the RPMs drop. However, the fuel rack is still wide open and the RPMs are not as fast as the engine expects...so more fuel is injected than is necessary for the engine...

    L2501 - New delivery

Sounds like a nice machine - most everybody that buys a 2501 seems to be pretty happy. I was skeptical at first of an L-sized machine with only 25HP, but it seems to be fine. Keeping just under the emissions limit lowers the price and increases the reliability of the 2501. Congrats!

    L2501 Cruise Control

The cruise lever is simply a friction device that holds the HST pedal to a certain position. It sounds like the lever needs more friction, or needs to be tightened. The dealer should do this for you, free.

I hope you guys are happy now

I can't wait for winter; I'm hoping for extreme cold and tons of snow. I really like the cold and snow; don't mind plowing, don't mind driving in it. Really enjoy getting out on the snowmobiles or even some cross-country skiing. It's too darn hot right now in NH. I don't like Labor Days that...

How many hours on your tractor.

    2002 L4310 - sold - 620 hours 2013 B2920 - 530 hours 2018 MX4800 - 20 hours so far No problems with any of them, ever.

    Adjustable Rear Wheel Width?

Some of the largest Kubota tractors (think M7 series, over 100HP) have axles that stick out and the wheel width can be moved (slid) along the axle to different positions. The purpose is for row crow farming to set the wheel width to the appropriate row size. Alternately, this type of axle allows...

diesel exhaust & shortness of breath

I know its not always possible for people to buy newer equipment, but one advantage of modern tractors equipped with a diesel particulate filter (DPF) is that they no longer produce a diesel smell. It isn't the "smell" that's giving you the shortness of breath anyway, it's the particulate matter...

    Hst pedal

Re: Hst pedeal My 2018 MX4800 has the same problem. It won't start half the time because the pedal does not return to the center, neutral position well. I have to money with it. I've also noticed leaning off the seat can cause the engine to die but that is because of the safety switch. I will...
