    B2920 Overheating while mowing

Maybe I'm just asking too much from my tractor. I have a 2013 B2920 with 400 hours on it. All service up to date. I use it to mow a 20 acre field with grass reaching about 24-28 inches max. I'm using a 48" flail mower to mow the grass. I operate in the lowest range and my tractor is hydrostatic...

B2920 with R4 tires - do I need chains for snow?

I plowed 8" of heavy snow yesterday. The 7' drag blade loaded with snow after about 50 feet overwhelms the weight of the tractor and skids it sideways. However, pushing the snow with it works like a charm. On ice, I spin out. I think I might buy rear chains. Nevertheless, this thing is really...

B2920 with R4 tires - do I need chains for snow?

I'm very familiar with how 4x4 works, having been an avid off-road driver for years. These tractors have an open front diff, and a lockable (but normally open) rear diff. So yes, you wouldn't want to use 4x4 on dry pavement. But in deep snow, with perhaps a hard or icy base, having chains on all...

B2920 with R4 tires - do I need chains for snow?

Yeah, I'm not too terribly worried about getting fully stuck since you can usually work the bucket enough to get you free again. I will update later this winter after some decent snowfall as to how it really does, but I think it is going to be fine.

B2920 with R4 tires - do I need chains for snow?

Well, I plowed today. Only about 4" of snow; used a 7' rear drag blade which is probably too big for the tractor. It did great! Now granted, when we get a foot of snow, I'll probably have to turn the blade around and do all pushing...but for now, suitable impressed!

B2920 with R4 tires - do I need chains for snow?

ItBMine, Thanks for posting the info and the pics. That power angle blade on the back sure is nice! I have a standard manual angle blade - 7'. Good to know regarding the chains. Was that snow from this year?

B2920 with R4 tires - do I need chains for snow?

Why not? It would seem maximum traction could be had that way.

B2920 with R4 tires - do I need chains for snow?

It might, but I think the block heater will be sufficient. The coldest we see here is probably -15F and that would be relatively infrequent. My diesel pickup says the block heater is only required starting at -10F but I generally plug it in around 0F (and will the tractor) just to help prevent...

B2920 with R4 tires - do I need chains for snow?

That's great info, thanks...even from a fellow New Hampshire-ite! Do you only use chains on the rear? How well does the tractor do pushing a foot of snow with your setup? I'm up in the Lebanon area. Mine does not have a block heater, I was thinking about getting one...I think around $50.

B2920 with R4 tires - do I need chains for snow?

I've had my 2013 B2920 for a few years now - but primarily used it as a mowing tractor. This year, I'd like to move some snow with it. It has the LA364 front loader and I have a 6' rear blade which can pull or push. First off, how will this tractor generally do in terms of plowing snow on...

    ^Good explanation. Thanks.

Replace fuel lines every 2 years?

What is the warranty period for this tractor? Is there a separate hydraulic oil filter and transmission oil filter? On mine, I see just one larger filter mounted behind the rear wheel on the same side as the engine filter. Maybe there is another on the opposite side? Never really looked. I'm...

Replace fuel lines every 2 years?

OK, thanks for the responses. I'm going to run Mobil Delvac 15w40 diesel oil from Wal-Mart ($12.50 / gal). The coolant level in the tank is just above the minimum line when cold. I guess I could add a small amount of distilled water to bring it up slightly. The filter I'll probably have to get...

Replace fuel lines every 2 years?

OK, so reading the service schedule for my B2920, it says the rubber fuel lines must be replaced every 2 years, due to "slow degradation from aging." Mine is a 2013, so it would be on schedule. Really? Do others do this? 2 years seems like an incredibly short life for a rubber automotive fuel...

Need to know if this mower will fit: B-series

Is the difference strictly in the mounting?

Need to know if this mower will fit: B-series

I have a 2013 B2920 tractor, and I'm hoping the following 60" Kubota deck will fit: RCK60-30B. Will it work? If not, what is the deck that should be on there? Why won't it work? Thanks in advance.

What is the clutch for on an HST tractor?

OK guys, thanks for the info. I read the manual and it seems you are correct. However, it states the clutch should be pushed to start the tractor but it starts just fine without pressing the clutch pedal. The manual also says to start the tractor in the neutral position of the range select. This...

What is the clutch for on an HST tractor?

Just picked up my first Kubota. It is hydrostatic, but still has a clutch pedal. What's the point? Thanks
