    Tractor won't start

The heavy cable goes from the battery to the starter. What happens is when you put the battery in backwards the diodes in the alternator are all wrong, and route really high current from the battery to the alternator. You may have blown the wiring from the alternator back to the battery. It...

    B670 Backhoe Rebuild

Re: Backhoe rebuild I still have a K650 backhoe that I bought new with my L185DT, 35 years ago. There was nothing similar to yours, other than the plate holding the upper bearing being bolted to the frame. About the third time it worked itself loose - probably the 6th or 7th time I used it -...

    DIY Cab for the L3200

Beautiful job!! Did you build the rear blade as well?

    Very hot gearbox

The gear box shouldn't get hot. Since the fluid is common for the hydraulic system, is there any chance you had the lift arms straining for the duration? That would get things HOT in a while.

    Lift arm aggravation!

Kubota evidently does a poor job for their dealers, when it comes to parts information. I'd think that almost any arm that fits the spline shaft would work (although you might have to buy both sides), but they don't specify that in the parts description. The dealer doesn't have a parts...

    School me, please!

You have the 1500 for real work - the GR2120 is a heck of a mower... And it will run a snow blower!

    Kubota BX25DLB-R vs BX25DLB-R-1

I don't believe we are being rude - we probably just don't know the difference. I hope you got it, and are happy! Welcome to OTT!

Having some fun with my MONSTER KUBOTA

Great work, keeping the old girl in style! And it does more real work than that old Craftsman ever dreamed of...

Kubota L175 PTO stops under load...

Thank you for a lot of good information! I don't believe my old L185 had an over-running clutch; the mower was content to drive the tractor. I did a fair amount of tilling with it however, often digging down into granite. Never had a problem! Just make sure you have a friction clutch or...

MMM on B7510 not cutting cleanly

That can be as simple as grass cuttings jammed and dried in the mower body. The blades have upward curves, and supposedly suck the grass up into them for cutting. If there is a lot of compacted cuttings jammed in the housing it doesn't work well any more. You can get blades with more...

    L1500DT Transmission Help

Gosh, I'm late with this information. Back when my L185DT was about a year old Kubota had a recall having to do with the gears jamming. It happened to me once, while I stopped on a very steep incline. I got jammed up, and couldn't move. Somehow I managed to get it into a gear - it was 35...

    Stuck in Mud

Whatever you do that gets you out without breakage or injury works, in my book. I've used an electric winch a few times. AG tires can dig you in worse, or get lucky and find hard ground under the mud. The big thing is the times you don't get stuck but maybe would have with turf or industrial...

New L3800 Break In Period ???

Generally you run out of traction before you run out of horsepower. The disc would be the exception. Use the low range, and vary engine rpm as well as the foot pedal. If you are lugging the engine down more than a couple hundred rpm, slow down or take a bit less bite.

    3 point hitch lift problem

I don't know about the weight involved, but the quick hitch does move the load back about 4". If the unit is heavy enough, that will make a huge difference, I would take off the quick hitch at least once, just to give it a try. I believe the manual also says that for heavy implements you want...

    L2800hst

I'm sure others will correct me if I'm wrong, but I would add enough oil to at least get a visible indication in the window. I don't reckon it hurts to have a little extra - the window tells you that you have enough. I bit more won't hurt. I have some fairly steep banks on my property. A...

    Rotary Cutter gear box ?

Mostly the higher horsepower comes from more torque, although with the MX5100 you have to run 2700 rpm to get 540 at the PTO. The mowers are all made for 540 rpm, and cut best at that speed. If you slow them down too much you no longer get a clean cut.

Home made brush hog / grass cutter

How big are you planning on building this? I used a 5' (150 cm) brush hog with my L185, and quite frankly it was too big. Any heavy tall grass and I was in 1st or 2nd gear, creeping along with the engine fully loaded. On the other hand, 40" (100 cm) seems a bit small for the tractor. Our...

    Almost ready to pull trigger?!?

I'd also consider a B. Once the oaks are gone, I'd imagine you'll think about a MMM. The B is all set up for it. According to the Kubota web site, you can get a 2920 with a MMM and canopy for the price of the L3200. I guess it depends on the dealer. The two speed PTO is really handy for...

New, soon to be L3800 owner

Glad you are happy. You'll only get happier! I'm working without the FEL more and more. The tractor works better that way for most implements. Problem is it is SO handy to have it....
