Your existing bucket probably weighs close to 300 lbs. By the time you get the bolt-on grapple on it you'll still be over 400 lbs. I'd go ahead with the 450 lb grapple - it looks to be heavier duty than the bucket + lid style. The edge-wise flat bar in the grapple will be a lot stronger, and...
Just what my brother did with my L185 ( shown in my avatar). My home-made ROPS saved him from serious grief. Another time, the wheels slid into a ditch, and she toppled. ROPS is a good thing to have, even if you don't think you'll ever need it.
That is not a bad looking deal! I'd be worried that a good wind gust will do the umbrella trick on it. Please keep us posted on how it works out long term...
Any time my gauge shows less than half, I refill the tank. When I ran out of gas just below 1/4, I had a heck of a time getting the air all out of the system...
At $6000+, definitely rent! I'm not all that sure you tractor could handle one of those. Rent the grinder, then drive through town and find a guy with a "Will work for food" sign...
I really have to agree with everyone else on the FEL. Once you start using something that will pick up and move things weighing 1000+ pounds, it is AMAZING how often you do it! You will say goodbye to your wheelbarrow in short order... If you just moved to the farm, now is when you are doing...
A picture or two would really help. Is it leaking from up by the transmission housing, or down by the axle spindles? There is nothing to leak from on the inside shell half, unless there is a crack by the weld. After 35 years of operation there could be a leak by the gasket between the...
In my Kubota manual it says, "Do not put ballast in the front tires!" or words to that effect. I really don't know why. Might have something to do with changing or eliminating the air cushion.
Anyway, like the others said, put tubes in the tires.
Welcome to OTT! That is a great tractor! For general driveway snow clearing, I mostly use the rear blade. With rotate and offset, you can get the snow berm well off the drive edge.
Rim guard is far and away your most economical solution. I'd guess you could put about 400-500 lbs in each tire. Of course, you don't need to go that heavy if you just don't want to.
I have 140 lbs weight plus 250 lbs rim guard per side on my L3200. I still have to put 600+ lbs of concrete...
I had the FEL on my L185DT, and never had a problem with weight in the back end. I'd go for the Land Pride if my budget would handle it. Add weight to the front as necessary! The FEL with bucket was about 700-800 lbs, on my 1800 lb tractor. Dealers like Land Pride because they don't come...
The edge of the sleeve of the tooth should line up over the dimple. Take a hammer and beat it into the dimple. Done. Ignore the hole. If the edge of the sleeve does note line up with the dimple, you have the wrong teeth.
If your shanks have plenty of steel where the tooth hole is, you can...
