Is it from the post that the main lead from the battery connects to or one of the solenoid termiminals?
Does everything on the tractor work without this lead connected?

The only thing I can think of is the cross shaft may be twisted causing the splines not to be in line.

From what I remember, when I changed the oil on my B7100 there was old oil below the drain plug which I used a vacuum pump and flexible tube to suck it all out.

Blowing the line back to the tank, if it cleared any blockage would only serve as a temp solution and may block again in the middle of an important job.Much better to clean out tank and then blow out lines.

Is there any reason why if you had it drilled it would need to be 24", the wells I know of in the UK for private use are drilled to suit a 4" linner and screen?
Dave
Edit: also wells should not be within 50m of any septic system!
In my B7100, Iv'e tried new rape seed oil at 50:50 mix with derv which is what I run my VW 1.9TDI on and it runs ok but there are too many other things like water and insoluble fats in untreated used frying oil!

Have you checked that the two battery cables are clean and tight at BOTH ends? that means taking them off , cleaning the cable ends, and in the case of the eath one, rubbing the frame around the fixing bolt until its bright!
