Kubota wont go forward or reverse

My post #9 was wrong - it's revised now that I realize its a whole different HST design than I thought. Sorry for the misdirection play. Here's the HST's component layout from the parts website for the L4600H tractor. There's a pipe (part 060 in the diagram on the right that delivers charge...

    Marry M4500DT front end with M4050 2wd

More on the subject of gear ratios for proper 4wd function, This thread gets into it starting at post #17 Its part of a discussion from May of 2021 about tire sizes and their rolling circumferences. The tractor discussed is an L5450DT but the terms "Inter-axle ratio" and "Transference Ratio"...

    Marry M4500DT front end with M4050 2wd

One more not-so-subtle thing to resolve - the overall ratio of the tire contact patch you'll have with both axles engaged. Most 4wd tractor producers (including Kubota) typically design for about a 2%-6% lead up front. If the fronts pull by by more than that, traction performance will be off...

Kubota wont go forward or reverse

Thanks to ruger1980's post below I now know that model's HST is NOT controlled by solenoid valves - see below and posts #12 and #16 EDIT: Oops, the info I had posted on solenoid valves wrong - the L4600H uses a version of HST that still has a hydraulic regulator controlling Forward and...

    Marry M4500DT front end with M4050 2wd

Adding all the parts needed to establish a driveshaft to the front will take a lot of parts list study and head scratching. Get copies (see links below) of the two versions of each affected areas of the tractors and determine ahead of time all the pieces that will need to change - and exactly...

Orange tractor salvage yards in New England?

This place in Troy, Maine is not huge but has supplied parts for my L345 & L355. They list lots of pieces for other brands too. Very good people. https://www.mainetractors.net/farm-tractor-parts.htm They are located up between Fairfield and Bangor - definitely in the Northeast.

    M59- Electrical issue- Glitchy dash

I've seen inadequate ground cables cause symptoms like this. Sometimes the bolted end connection is not conducting well enough. Kubota uses jacketed ground wires but they corrode inside anyway near the ends. A quick test would be to use a jumper cable from the battery post to a shiny bolt...

Hey guys need some help. Got a good friend who makes his living with his 02 L48 backhoe. This past February broke left side rear axle.

Is the break a "brittle fracture" - flat like broken ice? (closeup pics would be tell a lot) The original axle 32772-27110 looks to have a small keyway in the threads. This link and related thread describes a similar break occuring at that location. On a hardened part, small corners are huge...

    Hydraulic Rockshaft slipping, loose (?)

The snap rings keep it all together but the rock shaft is VERY robust - it will lift a house without breaking a sweat, and never sees very much side force anyway. FWIW the rest of the chasis will fail first if top link force is too high - 2014 pics of an L4610 with a winch and long logs drawn...

    L5740 HST reverse creep

Pretty likely there's a tiny leak somewhere in the regulator - or possibly the servo-piston isn't centering right. For the older style HST there's a procedure for setting the servo-piston's neutral point. Not sure about the newer style. There are three versions of that HST depending on the...

3 point position control not working

A clamp might work if everything is lined up. And when its back in, click your heels FOUR times for it to stay put. And since it worked loose once already, put a screw hose clamp around it before the heel-click thing.

    L225 front wheels

Four-lug 15" wheels (32210-11640) for a L225 are hard to find. Places like Messick's make an effort to find wheels that will fit -not sure they'll look like the originals.... Assuming yours look like this? Original tire size is 4.00-15 for the L225. Measure your bolt circle diameter...

    Kubota Back Hoe BH 4560

I went to Kubotas Illustrated Parts Lists - then searched using keyword backhoe, and picked the 4531 and its mounting kit. That brings up their drawing. Click around looking at other mounting kits to get a feel for how they spread the load into the sub frame.

    Kubota Back Hoe BH 4560

In reply to member addsdea, the L355ss loader option from dealers was the US-made model 1720. There was an available backhoe subframe for the the L345, but I'm not aware if there was one for the L355ss, which has a shorter chassis (without 2-speed pto). In any event the subframe for the OP's...

    Kubota L3010 HST range adjustment

Welcome to OTT - the online factory parts lists show two versions of the linkage - one for S/N under 63212 and another for SN above 70001. Which do you have? If you confirm which, someone who knows the procedure may chime in.

    Kubota Back Hoe BH 4560

Answering Baldwin Buck - the L3710 with backhoe should sell much more readily than the bh by itself. When shopping for a used backhoe attachment, many people find the most practical option is to buy a similar tractor with a BH already on it - mostly because of the subframe that's unique to each...
