Hey guys, working out in the field today and reached down to lift my 3 point and felt the usual resistance on the lever that you'd expect but suddenly it just lost all resistance and now the lever just flops back and forth with like it's not connected to anything. I checked and everything looks normal as far as connections to the rods and they still rotate but, absolutely no back pressure. I'm pretty sure that some valve or seal or something inside the housing has given out but, just wanted to double check that by some miracle 🤞, it's one of those "oh yeah, all you need to do is this easy and quick fix... ". Oh, and yes my hydraulic control valve under the seat is set the same it's always been. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

My guess I'd it's not connected to anything. Time to look at the WSM.

Yeah, already looked. I can handle general maintenance and maybe some fairly easy fixes but, I've looked best I can and everything that I can see from the outside looks connected and is moving like it should, but the lever just moves back and forth without any pressure/resistance like you'd expect so, I'm afraid it's something internal and I'm not equipped knowledge wise or shop/equipment/tool wise to dig that deep into it. 🤷‍♂️ May just bite the bullet and call the dealership. Thanks though.

If this is the correct drawing...
H44000.png

maybe #020, the roll pin that connects the arm to the valve has fallen out. That would explain 'zero resistance'....

That's not the correct drawing for what I have but, it motivated me to go out and give it one more good going over and, yep, that's it! A roll pin (#15 in this drawing) fell out. Like I said, I'm not a mechanic and even knowing where it is, I tried following this drawing and it still doesn't look like it matches what I have. But, if you crawl under the tractor, contort your body just right, cross your fingers and click your heals together three times, you can see it...lol.... Now just to get the right sized pin.
Seriously though, thanks for the help. I would have felt like an idiot after having them come get it (someone stole my trailer so I'd have to have them come get it which would have been an extra charge) just to have them tell me a dang roll pin fell out. 🙄 I owe you a cold one or two or.... man! Thanks again.

NICE !! I like to help if I can, enjoy mechanical puzzles and kicking myself for having sold my MECCANO collection.
Bet dealer will have them, maybe 1/8" x 1", ?? though Metric ??

You did a great job of describing the problem which really, really helped !!

Hopefully you don't have to tear 1/3rd of the tractor apart to install the pin.

BTW, order 2-3... if you only get one, that one WILL 'spring' away, far,far away...never to be seen again....

Ordered 2. It's relatively easy to get to and I won't have to take anything apart to get to it. Thanks again.

Spring Pin.jpg

Well, after getting it parked where I could get under it and get a really good look, look what I found hiding on the back side.... 🤣😂 The spring pin has popped out just enough to be hanging on by a thread but, far enough out to not engage the shaft. Problem is that thread it's hanging by must be made of titanium. I can't get it out to save my life. Of course, it's on top of the shaft where you can barely get to it with (small) plyers or vice grips and of course, then there's no room to maneuver to push, pull or just wiggle the dang thing once you do. I'm either going to find something the same diameter and try to drive it out from the bottom (and there's no room to get a good swing with a hammer btw🙄) or just wait for the new pins to arrive and just drive it in from the bottom somehow and call it a day.
Dang, I should have just stopped, took the time to get things setup right and got a good look at the problem to begin with. But I'm old enough that everything hurts, especially when you've sent all day bouncing around on a tractor and then bend over a lot and crawl under tractors all of which tends to shorten your patience and attention span. I'm also old enough to know better than to half-arse look at a problem. 🤦‍♂️

Comgrats on finding the problem You may hsve a litte trouble getting the holes lined up. If you are installing from the bottom a drill bit or pin punch inserted from the top helps.

Could a small C clamp not press that back in?

A clamp might work if everything is lined up.

And when its back in, click your heels FOUR times for it to stay put. And since it worked loose once already, put a screw hose clamp around it before the heel-click thing.
