Setting up a Dual Plate Clutch ???

Sounds very reasonable - I made one years ago - see attached pic - it's a little crude but it does the job. It started as 1-1/4" dia steel bar. I had borrowed a tool at the time and measured it for future jobs. Still works fine despite knocking around in the toolbox. outer end: 0.583"...

    4630 axle leaking

Yes - when the cover is unbolted the axle, flange and gear come with it. (Drain fluid first - bottom plastic plug) There are two half-rings behind the gear trapping the assembly together on the axle. I'm a new member here too - but I've been posting on TBN a long time. Here's a front axle...

new to this need help with L3350

:eek:right you are - no, my L3's have never needed that seal. The snap rings trap the axle. I was remembering a smaller rig that had a cracked cap. My standing offer is for prompt cheerful refund if info I give turns out to be bogus ;)

new to this need help with L3350

it depends on exactly which seam it's leaking from. If it's out where the axle & wheel flange stick out of the housing the 4-bolt cap can crack and drip. Support the axle on a jack or stand and take off the wheel - unbolt the cap and the axle slides out. If it's at one of the multi-bolt...

    Kubota L3010 HST Clutch

The dry clutch disk definitely controls the HST. It starts and stops the 2 pumps inside the HST that send power to the drive system. With no clutch, there's no HST function. Some L3010's were built with optional independent pto with its own separate hydraulic clutch pack. take care, Dick B

l245-dt drives in neutral in gear locks up and dies

camaroguy71: I hope I'm not saying the obvious but the original symptoms (moving in neutral, locking up in any other gear) is a clear case of a gear mispositioned. The trans is designed to only allow one gear engaged at a time. If two are engaged its instant lockup. My L345 did that years...

    No power in high range.

He DID mention all 4 gears plus high & low - so that's 8 speeds and definitely gear. HSTs have 3 gear ranges plus a variable speed reversible hydraulic coupling. ;)

    No power in high range.

So it's a gear tractor, right? Does it seem like the engine speeds up but it's slipping?

L225DT fwd idler gear loose on its shaft

Update - I split the L225DT at the end of the transmission. The loader frame extends back and upward, blocking the differential from pulling straight back. But by leaving one large attachment bolt on each side of the bell housing, the loader stays on the tractor but can rotate, lowering the...

L225DT fwd idler gear loose on its shaft

Yes its the same gear - the two-row gear with 20T and 26T shown as part 70 on Kubota' diagram 440000 (upper left - attached) I made the small .pdf in post #3 of this thread that shows just that gear and its shaft, collars, bearings etc. The range gears further inside appear to be ok. I split...

L225DT fwd idler gear loose on its shaft

Glad you found the problem before it required a new gear. To be clear, your loose gear was part 17 ? (first of the three gears in the side gearbox?) My loose gear is part 70 inside the trans - the shaft is grooved and the needles are gone! - probably in the bottom of the case somewhere.

L225DT fwd idler gear loose on its shaft

Wolfman - poking around on OTT and related links brought me to an older shop manual download that covers the L225DT. It has enough detail to confirm that by splitting the tractor between the transmission and the rear differential case the #67 shaft and #70 gear can accessed for replacement...

L225DT fwd idler gear loose on its shaft

Thanks for the quick reply - the Kubota Parts Page 380000 you've posted above shows the three gears that are in the outside gear case, they are all fine. The gear that's loose is #70 inside the big gear case - it drives the outside case. Edit - The gear is shown on Parts Page 440000 in the...

L225DT fwd idler gear loose on its shaft

Hi group - new OTT member here (long-timer at TBN, hopeless Kubota fan) Need some help with a neighbor's L225DT that makes gear noise in 4wd. Took off the side gearbox and found the idler gear inside the case is very loose on its shaft - like it's center bushing is missing. The gear is not...
