    Another grease thread

It was actually a good test as far as equal weight goes. His machine had a single weight that was added to each test he did. So that was equal on each product. I don't know the Schaeffer's number but it was their best grade of moly grease. That in itself may not be fair to R&T but to me it's...

    Another grease thread

If you ever get a chance to see a bearing wear/scar test take the time to watch it. I went to a demo put on by a Schaeffer's rep. Red&Tacky was one of the brands of grease he used against his brand. It didn't perform well at all. I took one of my tubes of Amsoil grease and got him to put it up...

    Ryobi Grease Gun

That's one thing I really liked about the Milwaukee grease gun. You can set if for what you want, pull the trigger and it's stops itself.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Busy today and used both tractors. Put wheat seed out on part of the pasture and part of my hay field. Then switched over and fed cows. After that jumped on my 9000 and pulled the old batwing around for a few hrs. Finally had some of my low ground that was dry enough to get on without rutting it up.

    Turning a tractor over

If you haven't done it load the rear tires. It's night and day difference on a small tractor for traction and stability.

    Making Hydraulic Lines

That's no joke. Friend of mine bought a used setup from a shop that closed down. They told him they had almost $15k invested.

    Fuel filter replacement frequency question

RCW, don't know if you have a place to mount one or not but Baldwin sells the Dahl filters. I have one one my L3000 that's pretty small but it's rated for up to 90 hp. I run the 2 micron element and it's also a water seperator. I use it for my primary and honestly I can't even remember the last...

    M9000DTC Synchronizers

That would explain why you have so much wear with that few of hrs. Friend of mine was using the same fluid in his 8540. His trans and hyd system was shot with less than 3k hrs and he changed fluid every year.

    M9000DTC Synchronizers

I'm just curious as to what kind of fluid you are using and how often it has been serviced?

    Fuel filter replacement frequency question

I change mine every spring when I service them for the year. I don't want to be 20 miles from home in the field and have a filter shut me down.

    Dirty Fuel

Winter Additive For Diesel - for BX Users / All tractors In General

Did you flush the tank or just drain it? May have the bottom full of crud.

Propulsion Question: Mini EX vs Tractor

I don't know at what size mini (if any) you can get into the priority controls like the big machines have. On large excavators you can select where you want different strength and/or speed depending on what you are doing. Example, you can slow the swing and add more digging force or any number...

Propulsion Question: Mini EX vs Tractor

The engine in a excavator does nothing but drive a hydraulic pump. Depending on the size of the machine it may have multi stage pumps but they all work alike. Any speed changes to drive motors or any other function on the machine is from either increasing or decreasing flow.

Do You Buy Your Grease From Your Kubota Dealer ?

Amsoil Polymeric off-road grease NLGI#1 is rated for 0*F and has 5% moly. I use the NLGI#2 myself but don't have to do much greasing in really cold weather. I go over my loader tractor in the fall before it gets cold and even though it's used every day feeding cows I don't need to grease it...

Propulsion Question: Mini EX vs Tractor

Think of it like this. Every function on the mini is done by hydraulics. It doesn't have a transmission, it has hydraulic drives. It doesn't require sudt2 fluid because it doesn't have a trans, only a hydraulic system. With that said if you want it to perform as it should don't just grab the...

    cylinder rebuild

I would check with the shop first. I have a local shop that will build them cheaper than what the kit cost from the dealer. I have always taken mine apart and took it to them. They'll put the seals in and hand them back to me and normally only cost about $40 or so and I'm out the door.
