Hey everyone!

I am on the Ryobi tool platform (don't hate, their tools are legit for the basic DIY/home maintenance world). I am looking at their Grease gun for my b2601. Anything i should be concerned with by using a battery powered grease gun?

I use a battery powered DeWalt grease gun on my tractor all the time. I did add a Lock-N-Lube to the gun to make it easier for me.

The only thing I have noticed going from a regular grease gun to a battery powered, I use more grease because it is easy and quick.

Been looking for a Ryobi grease gun for a while. Local supplier rarely has them in stock. Would be interested in hearing your experiences. For my use I like Ryobi tools. Good battery life and you can get reasonably priced aftermarket batteries if you need more. I need chargers now.

I like the Ryobi 18 volt line.
* They have a wide selection of tools
* They haven't changed the battery platform. You can use NiCad, old lithium, and newer lithium all in the same tools
* They are good enough for all but the most serious user. I used the brushless impact driver on my bridge project https://www.orangetractortalks.com/forums/threads/40-ft-span-bridge.48528/reply to drive over 200 structural lags among other things.
* I've thought about the grease gun, but I figure I'd have grease all over my batteries

I have never had the issue with getting grease on the batteries. I generally make less of a mess than before. I just clamp on the Lock-N-Lube, pull trigger, unhook the Lock-N-Lube and move to the next one. The only struggle I have had is with the PTO grease fittings and would love to meet the engineer that thought that design was a good one.

I also have the Dewalt electric grease gun again to match my other battery tools. The hardest part was getting the stock nozzle off in order to put on my Lock-n-lube. My only suggestion is to use 3 or 4 trigger squeezes and no more. Any more and you will be wasting grease.

I'm very sorry to inform you, your grease gun is not approved. The only approved grease gun of Orange Tractor Talks is the DeWalt one with the proper L&L Tip.

That's one thing I really liked about the Milwaukee grease gun. You can set if for what you want, pull the trigger and it's stops itself.

Give this video consideration before you buy one. Pretty good test of them in this video.

As someone mentioned here previously, once you go down the road with one battery powered tool, you are somewhat locked into that brand. The batteries are a major expense and they aren't standardized. At this point I only buy bare tools since I have enough batteries and chargers.

I've slowly replaced my dewalt tools. The Ryobi HP+ system just outperforms it 🤷
I am also on the Ryobi platform, and it only made sense to go with the Ryobi grease gun. Zero complaints, other than I should have bought it sooner. Much easier/faster to do the job = doing it more often. I also have the lock-n-lube. No regrets what so ever.

I went with an air-operated gun from O'Reilly's Auto parts. Even my tiny little pancake compressor makes plenty air for it at 90 PSI. It may not be quite as cool or convenient as a battery operated one, but it's a heck of a lot cheaper.

I know it’s a very necessary thing but I hate greasing. I can’t keep from getting all Over myself. Lol. I wear glasses and it never fails that I smear grease on them.

I have really considered one of these and I have both Milwaukee and Dewalt cordless equipment. A friends wife can get me Milwaukee for cost so that’s a no brainer. I already have the lock and load so I need
To pull the trigger on one. I just never think about it until I need to grease my equipment.

My guess is that you will like it once you buy it. If you can get it at cost, I would be jumping all over that.
