    BH stabilizer rubber street pads

These logs going to sawmill. We burn wood. Firewood selling is a tough business. Eastern cedar is really juniper. Aromatic and bright red heart wood. Point is using the backhoe as a logging winch requires good anchorage and testament to well designed pads.

    BH stabilizer rubber street pads

A lot of people think they can make stuff but don’t or find out it is not as easy. Going to test the pads today by pulling out a blow down walnut by the creek. Thawing snow covered ground. It and a few cedar and white oak logs will cover a year’s fuel cost.

    B26 lost power to starter

HST pedal and pto have interlock switches to keep from starting. Once washed my B26 and couldn’t start. With key on, jumpered at starter. After that worked fine.

Methonol and water vs rim guard

The Kubota dealer here only has methanol. Cheap, easy and non corrosive. More places will do repair. Used CaCl for years on tractors older than most posters without much problem. Tubes and tires lasted longer back then too.

    BH stabilizer rubber street pads

My M59 feet were flip over probably like yours. Never too spiky Now a combo pad. Bigger and longer area, rubber pads, steel cleats and 6” extra height to better meet my needs. Not flipable any more. Ford 4500 BH had spiker pads and higher lift helped plumb machine on side slopes. But not...

    BH stabilizer rubber street pads

I did add 3x3” of steel tubing under the rubber pads and steel cleats to engage if the rubber pads sink. Added 60# of steel and rubber to each pad. Use the backhoe for farm use not construction. Ponds, creeks, woods and foothills property. Wide range of ground conditions from bedrock to swamp...

    BH stabilizer rubber street pads

Even if they are called street pads I find they improve the the grip on our hillside farm. Don’t have asphalt or concrete roads. Cause less damage to landscaping around buildings. Increasing the pad surface area helps keep from sinking in soft ground.

    BH stabilizer rubber street pads

You will enjoy the rubber pads. Grip and a little extra height. Wouldn’t have appreciated the benefits of rubber pads if they weren’t on the used B26 backhoe. Bought some dealer close out rubber pads on eBay for the M59. Made mega bear pads and claws. Have enjoyed the difference on our...

    Backhoe steps

Be safer and easier to get up and down my goal. Particularly with muddy shoes that goes with excavating. Lots of experience but age will humble you. Used to be able to billy goat around. Generally one man repair and maintenance requires lots of up and down. Hillside wooded land needs egress...

Paralysis by analysis - Buying decision needs wise input!

Kubota TLBs are working good on our East Tennessee farm. Got our M59 years ago when they were plentiful and cheap used. Four post ROPS are needed our woods. Tough enough to do some construction work. Versatile enough for farm work. Don’t like ag tractor backhoes. Owned several. Too dangerous...

    Backhoe steps

Added two steps to stabilizer cylinder rod guard to help climb up and down. Previous owner had mangled the OEM steps on the stabilizer arm. These are more out of the way of the bucket.

BT600 backhoe swings right but not back left

Similar intermittent problem with my M59. Suspect debris or air trapped in relief valve. Lost left swing and down boom. Operate several functions for a few minutes returns to normal operations.

    Hand control for backhoe thumb

When I bought the BT1200 separate it was missing the swing lock pin. Scraped together the hammer, tubing and 1” bolt to make a pin. In it’s holder.

    Hand control for backhoe thumb

Not much foot room on open station either. The remote valves for the 3rd function are big for 16gpm flow the same for the thumb I think. Might be enough room between the control tower and boom? The hand lever was the easiest part. Easy reach with the other controls without bending. Used a 3/8”...

    Hand control for backhoe thumb

Added a lever hand control to the foot peddle for the M59 backhoe. Also modified the peddle to fit my foot better. All to give better control and dexterity for chores like stacking stones. Retained the OEM feature the pedal can be hinged up to lock peddle and lever in place and also disconnect...
