    Alamo SHD74 roller repair

Decided to add four, 1/2” plug welds around the center to further tie the two tubes together for strength. Super Heavy Duty. Also injected about a quart of Rotella engine oil before sealing the last weld. Corrosion and about 30sqft of internal surface area. Good use for an old turkey injector...

    Alamo SHD74 roller repair

Took awhile to find 0.188” wall, 6” pipe drop. Guess been sitting outside for sometime before being surplussed. Fertilizer? Bacteria forms blisters to convert (eat) steel into rust and release energy. That’s pitting can be so damaging. High carbon steel has more potential energy and even easier...

    Alamo SHD74 roller repair

Rust had perforated and heavily pitted the rear roller of a used flail mower I bought early this year. OEM replacement $2,000, driveline shop retube $4-600. Scrapyard 6” pipe $33. 0.188” wall. Roller was full of debris. Cut slot to remove and wash out. Used a test ring cut from pipe to...

Adding a parking brake warning light to the L2501

Did two things to help remind my wife, I and others the brake was on. First welded extension on the handle. Gives visual and makes setting the brake so much easier. Second, added a rear motorcycle spring switch to the parking lever. Bracket and hole already under the dash. Had to drill a...

    M59 backhoe boom dead

If you search this forum or TBN, you’ll find similar issues with sporadic loss of M59 backhoe function. Better explanation than I could give. More often with swing. Have experienced loss of boom down power but not up. Others have found cleaning and O-ring replacement a remedy. Spec of dirt or...

    SUDT replacement ?

I’ve been in the OEM camp. Since I do the maintenance try to use top shelf products. Do use Shell rotella synthetic in the tractor engines instead of Kubota oil. Hydraulic/transmission oil change in both tractors takes five, 5gallon buckets so almost $500 difference in cost. Local dealer is...

https://a.co/d/hGIba8n Anyone have experience with this oil? Kubota oil locally is $$$$ and shipping is expensive.

New to me 1981 Kubota m4500DT

Great tractor. Had a M5030DT for over twenty years. Bought used but believe it was born about the same time. Solid, not a CUT back then. You have a real gem. Those rarely come available. Sold it for a couple thousand more than I paid for it. Really hold their value. Recommend gear oil in the...

    Post hole auger for M7060?

Digga augers offer a halo option that gives an operator visual verification of plumb of your drilling. Usually a two person job easily done by operator. Helpful feature for us that have limited crew. Years ago setting crossties in 12” holes were tight, hillside terrain and needed to be plumb...

    Battery powered fuel transfer pump?

I use stanadyne and Howes diesel fuel additive. Much easier to dose a 100gallon tank vs 5gallons bottles. My shoulders smile every time I fill up now.

    Trailer hitch on back hoe

Like using the army trailer to mulch tight places like blueberry patch and garden. Pintle hitch and hand brakes are hillside friendly.

    Got a question Kubota M59

I made a mistake even after looking up in manual. Glad you caught it. You are correct. My labels are in bad shape too.

    Got a question Kubota M59

Congratulations on your new tractor. M59s are great machines. No loop with M59. Three quick disconnects, lines for backhoe. Two supply and one return. If you don’t manipulate the valves under the seat correctly you can deadhead the hydraulics. Both valves pushed in for 3pt hitch. Both pulled...

Suspected Oil Cooler Leak - How to fix "spring clip" joint?

I’ve had the same problem on the B26 oil cooler twice, same side as yours. Don’t think a very sturdy design. Get a pair of o-rings and replace both sides as it is easier to disconnect both sides to replace one o-ring. Short pieces of hose with hose clamps connects metal tubing to the coolers...

    Trailer hitch on back hoe

Added a receiver hitch on a B26 to KX mini-x adapter. Just be careful applying force to the backhoe. Designed strong to dig but not for external forces. Have a friend use his B26 backhoe to pull logs out of the woods. Then wonder why his valves leak down.

    Battery powered fuel transfer pump?

Some I did, not by forks, some other people donated. Truck has some scars like me. Better stories than tattoos. 28 year old farm truck.

    Battery powered fuel transfer pump?

Just bought a Vevor 12v tank and pump. 116gallon. Used a converter to utilize Dewalt 20v battery to 12v attached to the lid works terrific. Still maintaining the battery clip option. Modified a steel pallet for more durable fork lift transportation. Didn’t spill a drop filling, transporting...

    B2601 grapple

The wider the easier to bend and tweak the loader. 54” on B26 is plenty. Better enhance your grill guard first if messing with limbs.
