    B26 TLB hydraulic thumb (Australia)

Tried Messicks.com? B26 was my first backhoe with thumb and spoiled me for life.

Having fun pulling stumps with Backhoe and ripper tooth...

You do have a rare L48 with KX QA. Later M59 and current M62 have that option and requires an optional thumb. I had to modify my pin-on OEM with USA Attachments M59 to KX QA and modify the thumb a little. Well worth finding and changing the huge amount of excavator attachments. USA’s 12” and...

    Seat adjustment

OEM seats leave a lot to be desired. I’m a big guy with big feet. Finally spaced up and tilted back the seat on the M59. 2” rise on the front and 1” on the back with 1” thick rubber blocks. Made a world of difference in comfort and position. Much kinder on the back and knees. I’m maxed out on...

Having fun pulling stumps with Backhoe and ripper tooth...

Removed the stump, big roots, backfilled and raked, to carrying off debris about 45 minutes. Many variables digging stumps. Guesstimate ripper is about 5X quicker than bucket, 5X less ground disturbance. Fun priceless. With the KX quick attach two minutes max for changing buckets.

Which 72” (6’) 3 pt Rotary cutter is the best!

Rhino makes heavy duty cutters. Brown makes good ones too. Been happy with Bushhog 286 for a 30 year mower. Do like the 6’ width. Does take more time in pasture clipping but makes up in and around trees in the woods and creek banks. Kudzu by the railroad tracks makes a 60hp tractor grunt.

    Renting rear PTO rototiller?

Try calling some locally owned rental companies. They are more likely to niche market equipment. If they have small tractors they probably have a tiller. Some people do custom work like gardens and bush hogging. Personally I wouldn’t rent my equipment out. Not in that business. I do have a...

    Stabilizers vs turnbuckle 3pt implements

Changing from turnbuckles to pin stabilizers was one of the first upgrades I made along with a leveling box on the B26. Stabilizers from eBay had to be cut on one end and weld special mounting tabs. Used one of cutoff parts to mount the leveling box. Leveling box from weaver tractor supply...

    Raising my seat

The M59 has a forward and reverse hand control creep feature while operating the backhoe. Maybe that’s why? Using that feature is super handy for R&R backhoe or 3pt attachments from the rear.

    Raising my seat

The M59 has two parking brakes and two separate warning lights. Similar brake pedal parking brake like on many tractors. Additional lever by the seat that can be operated facing forward or backwards when using the backhoe.

    Raising my seat

Agree seat position could be improved. M59, I used 1” thick rubber blocks. Two stacked in the front and one in the back. Much more comfortable.

    Hilly Farm Bushhogging

Go low and slow. Type of bush hog makes a difference. Many hills I can go only straight up or down. Added 2” wheel spacers almost immediately to the B26 and made a big difference on our hillside farm for stability. Wheels not adjustable like ag tractors. Have you studied your manual for all...

Having fun pulling stumps with Backhoe and ripper tooth...

Ripper really helps tracing and breaking roots. Decreases time and ground disturbance. Compliments thumb well. It is so much easier to dig around a tree some, push over and let gravity and leverage pop the root ball out. Stumps happen anyways and ripper certainly helps. Have KX excavator...

    "Quick disconnect" Chain saw carrier...

Liked your write up and final product. Carrying tools in the bucket or floorboards is too high of a risk. Securing chainsaws and tools is essential for our efficient tractor work. Like to keep a plastic bar scabbard on the saw while in the holder. Protected while handling or transferring to...

Brush Grubber Attach to L2501 BH77

Can always weld a hook on the bucket. Hooks on front bucket too. Pipe and chain works better for me and pesky brush.

    Front Axle Oil Level

Drained the front axle fluid on the B26 at 400 hours. Probably Kubota UDT. Surprisingly dark. Added back 5qt Lucas synthetic 80-90wt gear oil. Hillside farm with no hard surface roads stays in 4wd. Drained front axle M59 overnight, black oil at 1100hrs. Filling took a couple days of checking...

    200 hr service question

The hydraulic filter is a course screen suction filter. Use to be a real screen that people forgot about cleaning on older models. Hard to change without losing a lot of fluid. The HST is fine, polishing filter. Usually can change without much fluid loss. All gets changed at 400hrs intervals. I...

    B2650 cutting edge replacement

Nice job! When buying a tractor with loader you usually have a choice between a regular or heavy duty bucket. You made a heavy duty bucket. The extra cutting edge and bottom supports give extra strength for clamp on forks or quick spade attachments. I’ve have added an angle iron to “box” the...
