It’s time to start purchasing implements for my new L6060 cat 1/2, I use a quick attach hitch and I have a hydraulic top link. The first thing I’m after is a 6’ rotary grass/ brush cutter. I’m looking at the Modern Ag Highway special, EA wicked 6’ and the one on top of my list is the Rhino ag TW36. I’m not sure if any of these have an American made Gear box but they all tout being 100 % American made 🤪. I am set to purchase the Rhino Ag tomorrow but before I stepped off into it I wanted to see what you Orange blooded Americans might have in mind.

I'm not sure why you are going so small. Have you looked at the Land Pride models? They have quite a few different models.

I have a lot of nook and cranny’s on my property and a lot of tree’s to mow around in tight quarters ! Land Pride has too many Chinese components now that they didn’t use to have. 🙂

Also, most of the 84” single spindle’s are cat 3/4

What parts are Chinese?

I just brought a RCR1860. And my gear box was made in Italy. And my salesman who I have know as a friend for 30 years told me they buy containers full of gear boxes

The one that lasts 30 years and you are still using it is the best one. For me it's the LandPride one. Can still get parts same day (or next day for oddball parts).

Yeah, my two eyes.
I'm not buying another one, so I guess I'll just have to keep the one I have. ;) Of course, I've also heard the same thing about a lot of other brands. Made in USA can just mean assembled in USA.

kcs says his gearbox is made in Italy, so apparently not all of their gearboxes are made in China. We have snow here, so I haven't walked up to see what mine says.

Rhino makes heavy duty cutters. Brown makes good ones too. Been happy with Bushhog 286 for a 30 year mower. Do like the 6’ width. Does take more time in pasture clipping but makes up in and around trees in the woods and creek banks. Kudzu by the railroad tracks makes a 60hp tractor grunt.

I was told several years ago by my local dealer most gearboxes were made in Italy for finish mowers and bush hogs regardless of manufacture.

I have a Land Pride RCR1884 rotary cutter that I bought in the spring of 2021 from the local dealer and here's a photo of the plate on the gearbox. The gearbox is made in China for Great Plains Mfg., which like Land Pride is owned by Kubota.

I'm very pleased with the RCR1884 but it's the only rotary cutter I've ever owned so I might have no idea of what I'm missing.

I have likewise been pleased with my Landpride cutters. I used to have a 4’, now a 6’. But don’t get the rubber belt guards, get the chain guards.

I got chain guards front and back and would do it again if I ever buy another rotary cutter such as a bat wing or flex wing. Here are some photos of the RCR1884 the day I bought it.

I made it up by my rotary cutter and pushed the snow out the way to see the plate.

Mine is made in China as well like mcmxi's. Might have to do with when it was built. I bought mine off a lot two years ago.

Most gear boxes are NOW made in China some of them May have been made in Italy but post Covid crap moved them to China. 🤮

I’ve decided that I am definitely going with the new Rhino ag TW model but I want to go with the TW37 7’. I’m just not sure that my 53 pto hp will handle it or not. I kind of need to make a decision quickly because I have a 6’ and 7’ located that are great deals and in stock. From what I know, parts ( if needed) are readily available.
For some reason I’m not getting these updates In my email🤷🏼‍♂️.

I do own a LP 2021 flat top and there are two items made in China on it! The Gear box and the black cast Yoke for the float.

it’s been a great little shredder but this went with my 37 hp jd. LP is just a little light in the pants for me.
