I recently purchased a LA3902 with a front end loader. I also have a RCF2060 rotary cutter, which I leave attached to keep the weight on the back. Of course, this is not ideal because it gets in the way sometimes. I was wondering how much weight I should keep on the back to use the front loader safely? I have a little blade but I do not think that would be heavy enough.

I think you got something confused?
Do you have L3902 (HST or DT)?
LA would be the loader number.;)

If you have a L3901, 1000lbs to 1500lbs is ideal on a l3902 as ballast

If you are overly worried about it, you can buy a 3pt ballast box and fill it with concrete, sand, or rocks (kind of what the above poster posted.)

FWIW I usually use my land plane (565lbs) and have loaded tires on my 4701. I've never felt tippy, but now I'm wondering if I'm putting too much stress on the front axle if people think 1k would be more appropriate ballast.

What kind of ballast do you have on/in your rear tires? I highly suggest tire/wheel ballast if you dont. With this usually you can get done all the simple light loader tasks. Then load up a heavy rear implement if your doing heaped bucket work (rocks, sand, mud, pallet loads).

My grader/scraper has always been heavy enough for my L2501 with LA525 and is wide at 72. It's almost 800 lbs and the QH15 is about 60 lbs more.

I have a ballast box, but almost never use it because I still need to make it QH compatible. It won't be hard to do, just haven't done it yet. Price you pay for buying a generic cheap ballast box.

Rear loaded tires and ballast box works very well for me on my L3901. Depends on what you are trying to lift.
