Trailer stake pocket spare tire carrier ideas?

Want to make a spare tire carrier that will fit the stake pockets of any flatbed trailer. Support 16”, 10-14ply spare. Position either inboard with tire on deck or outboard. Bolt or clamp with lugnut size fastener to not rattle or easy to steal. Store bought types look too flimsy. Scrap pile...

Consider TLB. B26, L38, L48, M59. Can’t beat them for digging and lifting in their class.

    SWAG 20T HD Finger Brake

A simple press break is a useful tool addition if you already have a shop press. Have used mine over 20+ years on a 50 ton press. Open box demo from Northern Tool store. A finger press option would have been nice. Did order large set of 12” press plates from SWAG. Postmaster still mad about...

    L-47 vs L4060

When I got my used M59 and was making my second trip to get all the parts and fluids for me to do the full service, the service manager told of the special they have in the fall/winter with parts and labor. Actually cheaper for them to come get my M59, do the service, and return than I could do...

Attachment that has both SSQA and 3-point options.

Years ago modified a skidsteer grapple with hydraulic winch to fit cat2 3pt also. Sold it to a local tree outfit at 5X my cost. They still use it regularly making good money. They got the contract to help county road department. Being able to load logs in back of trucks in the roadway helpful.

    Well Used Bush Hog

Address the issue with the gearbox spline and blade carrier hub before worrying about the deck. Blades shouldn’t contact the deck like that.

    Battery replacement, with no issues…yet.

My 2013 and 2016 OEM batteries are still working good. Regular battery maintenance. No maintainer. Doubt replacement batteries would last as long.

Paralysis by Analysis, and the sinking of the USS Good Idea.........

I operate in the rocks and sticks too. Can be rough on equipment. Encourage your creative solutions. Maybe a two piece protection. One attached to outrigger tubing to guard the lines and one slider to provide step and cylinder rod protection. The latter used on most commercial backhoes.

Air and fuel filters? Check, replace front axle oil. I know it’s a lot up front but you want many trouble free hours. Oil is much cheaper than metal.

Paralysis by Analysis, and the sinking of the USS Good Idea.........

In a tough spot I remember advice from my Marine friend, “When in doubt, attack!” has helped me break thru problems. Prototyping success is finding out what will not work is as important as what does. if 10% of new ideas work, your a great inventor. I’m happy with 1-2%.

    Struggling installing an SSQA adapter

I have a piece of ATI attachment and it is very well made. Suspect the loader arms might be tweaked a little. Wouldn’t hurt to contact ATI to advise. Should be easy enough align to get the pins in. The pins usually have a good chamfer on the ends that get bolted or retained.

Chains for front wheels on 4WD BX 2350 ?

Old car chains on the B26 front. Used more for ice or mud on our farm. Using the loader it is hard to beat easy on and off.

B26 - q about replacing the suction hose assembly

Glad you found and fixed the problem. I have always bought used tractors and have always replaced filters and lubricants just to be sure. 400hour hydraulic oil was just a little tinted. There are two rear axle drain plugs are a bear to reach. Didn’t get much oil out them either. HST filter...

Reversing front wheels on Kubota B26 TLB - NO NOT DO THAT

Unsure why widen the front? Doesn't increase stability because of pivoting axle. B20 and B26 both have seen severe service without damage. Grapple on later can see huge loads. Built to be heavy duty machines. Could be other contributing factors. what lubricant was the OP running? Maintenance...

In need of a BT1000 Backhoe

My M59 was originally sold without a backhoe. Landscape model. Option on any TLB. Took several years before I found a backhoe , BT1200. Canada, Detroit to Knoxville TN. Resale much cheaper the small tractor backhoe attachments. Even came with thumb.

B26 - q about replacing the suction hose assembly

I replaced the new line, new multiple piece design to eliminate stress on the rubber elbow during the 400hrs service so fluid was drained anyway. The line is near the top of the tank or above so shouldn’t be much oil loss if you don’t drain. The hard line attaches to filter housing bolted to the...
