    Tractor Disasters and Owner Abuse

As a teenager back when Eisenhower was President, I once buried a Ferguson TO-20 in mud like that, along with the loaded manure spreader it was pulling. Having to use a pitchfork to unload the spreader, which I had just loaded the same way, taught me to be plenty cautious when heading onto...

2009, B3200, V1505, 4 cylinder. 214 total hours. Seems to be losing its prime after sitting a few days.

150 hours of use over ten years is just a very few hours each year. Would have to wonder about the condition of the fuel in the tank and possible contamination.

    Muratori-165

On paper it might look like that tiller could be a handful for the L2501's modest PTO HP, but since you have sandy soil and a limited area to work, it's worth trying it before deciding it won't work. I had the same tiller... well made and reliable.

    Steering brakes on a bx2360

I used both a BX and a 46 hp L for many years and 1,000+ hours on each. The L had split brakes, the BX, obviously not. Came to the conclusion there were only 2 uses for the split brakes. 1. To control wheel spin in mud/snow. 2. Making minimum radius turns in field work. For the low traction...

BX1500 Transmission Issue - Power to Only One Wheel

Two other suggestions about starting: 1. Check to make sure the HST pedal is exactly centered in the neutral position. There is a starter cutoff if the pedal is even slightly off the neutral position. 2. The starter switch has a 4 position sequence: Off - Run - Glow - Start. To glow the...

Why won’t my BX2380 mower deck lock in top position?

Looking back on 14 years of BX ownership, my little BX never raised to the top setting either, but I never gave it a second thought. The deck always came off the machine for anything where ground clearance might be an issue and that extra 1/2 inch wasn't needed for any mowing I had to do. Also...

    l3560hst loader counter weight

You have a tradeoff to deal with: maximize the counterweight so you can lift heavier bucket loads vs. keeping the tractor light so it won"t bury itself in your soft areas. I'd be trying to keep the option of changing the setup based on situation, which favors weight on the back instead of...

    Loader Falls too fast

Boy, there is a lot going on in this thread! Relative newbies who maybe haven't yet learned how to feather the loader joystick. Others having trouble jockeying round bales, size unknown, with a "B" size tractor. Someone who has discovered a full bucket drops faster than an empty one. Great...

How many hours on a typical Kubota diesel before rebuild or replace

These small Kubota diesel engines are darn near bulletproof. In industrial applications they can last many thousands of hours with proper operation and maintenance. They do not like or tolerate overheating though, and it seems that is something that is often overlooked by us weekend warriors...

    Box blade suggestions for MX4800

I had a Cat II 84" heavy duty offsetting + tilting blade for my L4610 years ago. Very versatile attachment, just guessing it was about 800 lbs. The 4610 was close in size to your MX4800, maybe a tad lighter, but it handled the blade very well. That size should be a good match for your...

Hazard lights not working on L3710?

The "hazard lights" on the fender are also the turn signal lights. You should find a wire going to the light beneath each fender. Unfortunately both the wires and the lights are easily damaged in everyday use but easy to fix/replace as well.

    newbe spacer question

If your BX has turf tires you might consider switching over to the ag type instead for better traction. I had both for my BX but ended up not using the turfs very much. Also recommend liquid ballast in the rear tires for the same reason. That said, I have to say this still seems like a...

    bx23s engine oil leak

Was the stopped up air filter accompanied by a stopped up radiator? That might have caused the engine to overheat. Prolonged overheating can cause significant engine damage to all engines, especially so for diesel motors. It"s a good sign that your engine still runs and is not seized up...

    Lift cap question

42 # is what I get. It was a matter of 1 inch thickness vs 1 foot thickness. 😀

    Lift cap question

Right question but slight dimensional correction is needed, I think. Steel weighs 0.2904 lbs per cubic inch. A cubic foot of steel (12 inches x 12 inches x 12 inches) is about 501lbs, so the 20 cu ft of steel you describe (4 feet x 5 feet x 1 foot), would weigh about 10,000 lbs. 2 cubic feet...

    Bunny hopping when slashing.

No it’s not bumpy ground. I don’t think the tractor has cruise control, but it’s not my tractor . It’s hydrostatic drive. I have to keep my foot on the pedal. But I’m happy to be proved wrong ! Is it a technique issue? How do you use the foot pedal? A) Heel on the floor, push the pedal with...

    B2400 Not starting. No fuel

Work your way back from the fuel pump to the tank: blocked lines, clogged fuel filter, crud in the fuel tank itself are obvious possibilities. Fresh fuel or stuff that has been around for some time? Treated with fuel condtioner or no? If all that checks out, maybe a fuel pump issue?

    BX23 Issues

I think the BX22 shop manual should be pretty good for what you are doing. I bought a BX2230 in 2005 - it was the non-backhoe version of the BX23. Totally trouble-free for 12 years until I sold it. There were very few differences from the previous BX22/BX2200 models. The loader control...
