What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Update on my $160 carport tractor cover: We had serious winds the past few days. Though it didn’t blow away, the fatal flaw of my installation design resulted in the wood pieces sliding and the frame getting tweaked. Luckily I complained about the kinda shoddy cover it came with (fabric had...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Yeah, it’s not a healthy emotion, but if I’m honest i’m seriously jealous of this garage/shop/barn whatever ya call it.

Please ease my mind - Kubota L4802 vs Mahindra 5145 - Kubota $10k more, less functional?

Hi Ben. I noticed you posted not even a week ago about which tractor to buy, and you already have your machine home with 20 hours on it?! Amazing! Congrats.

Please ease my mind - Kubota L4802 vs Mahindra 5145 - Kubota $10k more, less functional?

I have an L4701. I would have bought the MX5400 mostly for the greater loader capacity, but when I bought there was 0% on the L and not the MX. Between the higher price and interest rate, it was a bridge too far for me. I do really like the 4701. Guess it’s a tough choice between the two...

No snow blower usage yet, happy new year

You’re getting it too, eh? We’re expected to get snow on the eastern side of NYS (I’m right by MA and VT). You have some very lovely ponds in Mendon. I used to live in the South Wedge, and would frequently take a kayak over there.

L02 series seats for L01 series tractors

Haha I never thought about the terrible seat that way before. Thanks for helping me see the bright side!

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Wow nice. I’ve been thinking about something similar. Looks very well made. What are the corner posts? (More than one piece of wood screwed together?) What are the post footings, did you pour them or get them precast?

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Right on, thanks for the insights. I’d be very happy indeed if I get five years out of this!

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Interesting screw anchors, I didn’t know about those! Thanks for the tips, but I definitely won’t be upgrading this in any sort of way. It’s only to hold me over. My lineman brother has been getting me broken cedar poles and crossties, which I plan to cut up on my Logosol chainsaw mill. And I...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

We shall see regarding the snow, that is of course my biggest concern. I’ll knock it off when I can (I’m usually here as work from home). That hoop house sounds great, but I was able to set this up in a couple hours with a three year old’s help, didn’t require running electric, and cost $160...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Yeah I’ve been wondering about that. I have it screwed down (a couple 2” screws in each leg foot) to a treated 3”x10”x19’ beam (about) that’s gotta weigh well over a hundred pounds. Wish me luck!

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

I’ve been wanting to build a proper carport/tractor shed/barn/something, but time and funds are limited. In the meantime, I’m getting sick of a wet or snowy seat. Plus the wet and cold seems to mess with the seat safety switch. So, I put up a cheap temporary tractor shelter yesterday. I’ve been...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Well, I have considered putting some sort of drain in. But I’m out of my element and haven’t figured out a way. Because it was a big low spot that I put a gravel parking area in the middle of, like an island (or peninsula I guess). So I’m not sure where to locate a drain. Plus, where that...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Thanks! There are a couple quarries nearby, but it still cost a lot. I think five hundred some per load. When I did other part of the drive a few years back it was $300 per load 😳

    Need advice from lumberjacks/lumberjills

That’s a good idea. I’m at the end of a dead end, a d have PLENTY of driveway, yet every few months somebody drives over my wet grass. I may think about strategically placing some “BFR”s, as they’re called around here.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Definitely. I rip everything off my cars, too.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Totally. I added three tandems of crusher run and several tons of dirt from elsewhere on the property last year, but it seems I have more to do!

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

All the rain we’ve been having resulted in a small lake in my driveway/yard. So today I dug a little trench across the driveway to drain it. I think I aught to figure something out to prevent this from happening in the first place. Tractor made light work of it!

Stinger Compact Claw Grapple, anyone have experience with this company?

I’m happy with mine. It’s better at grabbing logs than brush. But I do grab brush with it. And pretty good for big rocks, too.
