What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

When I hear comservation easement, I think of land trusts. There are few in my area that help property owners (mostly for free is my understanding). Not sure if working with a land trust is something you’ve considered, or if there’s a good one in your area even. PS: The Land Trust Alliance...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Yeah I’m at 1800’ near the MA/VT boarder (on the Rensselaer Plateau). I like snow, but come April I’m ready to be done with it! I took my back blade off and put my backhoe on the other day. I’ll just use the front snow pusher for this one.

Me too. Every year I do this to myself!

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Geez what the heck. Some people! It seems to me some have a “mind your own business” attitude that extends way too far. I’m a live and let live kinda guy. But c’mon. Be neighborly and warn someone when you may be lighting their place on fire, right?!?

    Spec’ing a new tractor

I totally hear what you’re saying. I generally agree with “buy once cry once” (I have Duckloe windsor chairs, Benchmade knives, a Delta Unisaw, a Weber mandolin, etc., all things I expect to outlive me). If I had known at the beginning what I know now, I could have just gotten the bigger...

    Spec’ing a new tractor

Sorry, wasn’t clear. I mean, one way of looking at using a tractor for a few years and loosing a few thousand when you trade it in, is it wasn’t really a loss, it was the cost of having the machine and using it for a few years. My B2301, I think I bought for like 17 or 18k, and traded in for...

    Spec’ing a new tractor

I first bought a B2301. It’s was a great tractor that sometimes didn’t have the oomf I wanted. So I upgraded to an L4701. There are advantages to starting small: initial cost is less, the smaller one may suit your needs just fine (or better), you learn how to use and get the most out of the...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

This is my first auto trans vehicle. Can’t say I care for it. Wish I could have gotten a stick! But manual trucks are slim pickin’s these days. My brother went with a late 90s/early 00s F350 to get a stick. I really like the electric diff locks, backup camera, Apple Carplay, etc too much to do...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

My starter went the other day. There was a nice cold puddle where I needed to lie ok my back to replace it. So I moved it with the tractor!

Excellent! Who’s the maker of the evaporator? Looks nice and rugged. Glad to hear you’re safe, hope your neighbors near the touchdown are as well.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Awesome! I don’t actually do that much, only about a dozen taps. 2x3 three channel flat bottom pan with a fan in the arch does 10 gallons per hour without having to go crazy pushing it. Hope you post (and I see) your setup at the new place! (Oh, and thanks!)

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Nice! I remember cinder block days. How many taps ya have in? Ever consider buying an evaporator? I love mine 2x3 from WB Mason in Maine. I haven’t built a sugar shack yet so I have it bolted on a pallet and move it out from storage to the driveway for boiling with the tractor and forks. 2017...

    Everything Attachments - Bankrupt?

Wow, there’s a lot of speculation in this thread. Unless you have something on order, I don’t really see what the big deal is. 🤷‍♂️

    Grapple questions

I can’t speak to the EA, but I like my Frost Bite for moving logs. If you haven’t seen them, may be worth checking out. I think a couple other brands make this style too, if my memory serves Fransgard (sp?) and a Chinese import called SunJo or Sunguard or something like that...

    Considering a BX1880

I think you’ll love a bx1880! If I were you, I’d get it with: - turf tires (better for your lawn in the summer, and apparently good in snow), - beet juice in tires for ballast and traction, - mower deck, - loader with SSQA (a must in my book), - bucket with some hooks and a receiver hitch...

    L3902 winter operating problem

The seat safety switch freezes on my L4701. I found that holding it with an un-gloved hand warms it up so the little black plastic piece moves up and down freely, then it works. It’s a pain. I’m tempted to zip tie it down.

Struggling during the last snow storm.

I mean, if you have to actually lift it off the driveway to get it over a guardrail or something, then yeah I guess it wouldn’t work. But I just have grass on the sides of my drive, so I push it right off, and if needed lift the bucket as I’m pushing to get tall piles.

Struggling during the last snow storm.

Not quite the same, but I had a b series with R4s. Was totally useless in the snow until I added chains, then it was a beast. I read online and/or was told the tractor needed spaces in order to run chains, but I got by without spacers as long as they were tight. Also, I like my snowpusher. I’m...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

If this is arguably appropriate/useful/fun for this thread, then I’ll bite. I live outside Albany NY, and it’s remarkable it’s going to be colder in south Texas! Right now at 8pm it’s 16 degrees at my house, but the winds have died down a lot after this afternoons snow squalls and I imagine are...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

I thought posting about how I store my tractor fit the thread topic “what did you do on or to your kubota today” and it may be helpful or useful info for others. But, perhaps you thought the same about what you posted. And who am I to be the thread police, right? My apologies.
