Do you mean the blower with castors off and skid shoes on like this photo?

Or, do you mean photo with castors still attached but blower lifted? The brackets are at the powder coat place...I should have them back middle of next week. I'll take other photos then if needed.

BTW, I did also originally make a wooden dolly that is custom sized. But is bulky in the garage when blower not on it. The castor brackets are small and a bit easier to store when not in use. The mounting holes on the brackets are not square/parallel to the ground, they are drilled to match the angle that the blower is at when connecting to the tractor...seems to be a little easier to attach.

Good call on the fuel supplement. (I treat all my diesel year round with Hot shots…not sure brand matters…I hope I don’t find out).

-33°F (-36°C) this morning and the power went out for about an hour. The joys of winter, but made all the more bearable with a good wood burning stove.

Here's a fun fact. -40°F = -40°C. Almost at parity this morning.

Thursday I blocked up and split the 3 logs from the other day. Used the L3901DT and grapple to move the logs to the splitter.

Agree, a bit anal. My fun hobby stuff. Generally, if I'm not exhausted I'll cleanup and put stuff away at the end of the day. Five minutes with the leaf blower and hose before backing into the shop keeps it shiny.

I built the shop/RV storage a couple of years ago...~1,700 sq ft. 16' tall walls so I can work on RV inside. 14' tall X 12' wide RV door. 10' tall X 20' wide other door. Had to match the other exteriors of the woodshop/hobbyshop building and the house...because of silly HOA rules.

I'm with you there. A nice shop with a heated space to work on projects in the winter would be wonderful. Hopefully this year for the outside. @dbertheau has an incredible shop for sure.

Sure thing. I'll post photos next week when the brackets are back from powder coat.

It's not really a dolly, just two brackets. I had about 54" of scrap 1 1/2" by 1/4" thick angle iron. Cut in half and cut each of the four vertical square corners off at a 45. On each of the two 27" angle iron pieces I drilled two castor mounting holes and two snowblower mounting holes (mount each to the existing two skid shoe holes.) So, just two 27" long angle iron brackets with two castors on each...

Should be the other way around. You can lean on the shovel handle while watching her run the machines. Then hand her the broom to sweep off the rops machine when she's done.

After reading a thread about a K-connect coming apart, I removed my snowblower and K-connect just to make sure the bolt in question was still there. Bolt present!. Then as I was re-installing the blower, I noticed the augers weren't clocked 180 off, so I fixed that. Then proceeded to shoot the foot+ of snow on the driveway into the neighbors yard. <JK>

Getting a chill in the air around here in the evenings. Made me start thinking about snow. Had some slippage with the R4’s last year so decided to groove the tires. I based the pattern off of the new TracLoader II design.

Grooving the tires made a noticeable difference.

We shall see regarding the snow, that is of course my biggest concern. I’ll knock it off when I can (I’m usually here as work from home).

That hoop house sounds great, but I was able to set this up in a couple hours with a three year old’s help, didn’t require running electric, and cost $160 (plus some fasteners and a couple pieces of wood I had sitting around). If I had hoop house money I’d just build a carport!

Update on my $160 carport tractor cover:

We had serious winds the past few days. Though it didn’t blow away, the fatal flaw of my installation design resulted in the wood pieces sliding and the frame getting tweaked. Luckily I complained about the kinda shoddy cover it came with (fabric had thin spots and it came with mildew on it) so they sent me a replacement. They couldn’t source just a cover apparently so I go the entire assembly. Good thing, because now I had spare parts to replace the bent ones!

The fix is I spiked it down at the corners with some rebar. Hopefully that does it! While I was at it I added more braces from the replacement.

If this is arguably appropriate/useful/fun for this thread, then I’ll bite. I live outside Albany NY, and it’s remarkable it’s going to be colder in south Texas! Right now at 8pm it’s 16 degrees at my house, but the winds have died down a lot after this afternoons snow squalls and I imagine are below 20mph.
