    SUDT2 to top off axle

Thought the same - especially with the viscosity. But no - it takes a while. Others reported the same

    SUDT2 to top off axle

I went through this a while ago and posted up the same. The consensus was the factory filled with UDT2, dealer added the heavier gear oil (they didn't tell me and I "knew" by feel and smell) & I topped w/slightly less than a quart of the UDT2. The mix gets you somewhere in the middle...

New L2501 on the way, any advice as far as what to be on the lookout for?

Congratulations & welcome. Love mine and my only complaint I have was not deciding to get one sooner ;) Good advice above. You may want to download and read the owner's manual ahead of time. My delivery driver was great and stepped me through general control operation etc. but it's nice to...

    L2501 branch stuck in tire

That is a good way to do it with the tractor. FWIW I have done it with a board positioned as a ramp right to the edge of the problem rim laying flat on the ground and run my jeep up on it. Definitely take the v. stem out or depressurize it. OP - don't feel bad, that goes in the "stuff"...

    Toolbox Upgrade

Just picked up a 50 cal ammo box to replace the plastic one on my L. Test fit it tonight and looks good. Will prob. paint before mounting:cool:

Surprise: B26 TLB available below MSRP

That is one seriously capable machine - once it arrives of course!

Surprise: B26 TLB available below MSRP

Yes - really surprised me too as that was my first solution. This series (smaller & larger one) have a pseudo roll cage if you will. I verified with Kubota. When you look at it closely, there are ways to take it apart of course, but those front supports and frame are not meant to be removed...

Surprise: B26 TLB available below MSRP

Definitely a good deal and they really "punch above their weight". My neighbor has one and it is a beast. When I was looking, I found a couple of fair deals used but they lasted a few days. Most around here were rentals that were ridden hard and put away wet. In the end, I did not want to...

    Toolbox Upgrade

That looks like my first ever craftsman toolbox that I got as a kid - still have it... I too am struggling with finding a better option w/ the BH. I have seen bigger ammo cans mounted to the same base as the junk one but seems pretty unwieldy.

Looking for some beginner tractor advice (B/LX + implements)

Good luck & let us know how you make out!

    Just got price of l2501

Knee jerk reactions is that there is a lot of markup in that vs. list (or it's not apples to apples). Do you know how to post your quote to see how they are charging you? Also, here is a L2501 thread around the holidays with some good info: Great tractor IMO ;)...

Looking for some beginner tractor advice (B/LX + implements)

Some great advice on this forum & in the archives - I do a lot of firewood, clearing, and trails so I will chime in. The best advice I got was to get a grapple & third fxn. I was going to hold off and "make due" and am SO GLAD I bit the bullet. Ex) Just this afternoon, I quickly switched to...

    Is this a fair price?

I keep searching for used ssqa folks in my region with no joy. They are occasionally out there but listed so close to new cost ($$) that it is not even worth a call.:(

    checking front axle oil level

You might have said but I am unclear if you topped it up before? I inferred that now you drained to the right level and confirmed when warm after use. Per above, it does take a long time to "equilibrate" level and I did this dance myself. IMO you are good now. Maybe periodically check...

    Tractor Warm Up Question

Thanks all - like other things in life, everything is relative and "winter" is also which is why I said PA. My version of cold is single digits down to 0 or -10ish?. However, it seems you northern folks have been sending that polar vortex air down here more often! I don't get too concerned...

First Tractor - Trying to Get Information on 2022 Supply Chain

As per above post re: flexibility, - Maybe check out adjacent models or engines for availability? Also, push the geography out and get on the phone. It worked for me and I have read here that others found similar results. In dog training terms - I don't do "sit & stay" very well ;)

    Tractor Warm Up Question

Follow-up question to those making & using covers - Does the tractor come up higher in the "range" on the temp gauge? I am sure the answer is yes, but how much in a relative way? Of course, it makes sense that it is based on usage and ambient conditions etc. Also, Can you get it too hot using...

    checking front axle oil level

Great point for the OP. One's a fill and one is a "check" level (it's the lower smaller one - diagram in your manual)

    L3940 gets stuck in snow

In 2016, we were in the bullseye with 36" officially at the airport and about 48" on my side of the ridge (BEFORE DRIFTING) from that crazy storm that followed a line up the Appalachian mountains here into PA. I can say with certainty that while I got myself plowed out with my lightweight Jeep...

    checking front axle oil level

I found mine low @ 50h this fall and documented it here. I learned that while UDT was likely the factory fill, but in my case, there was definitely some higher viscosity gear oil in there. While I don't know for a fact , I have many years smelling & changing dif.s on old cars and just done the...
